The more I think about it the more I think BCC is going to pump hard post fork as GOAT said. They proved themselves a few weeks ago and people will take BCC much more serious this time

Proved? It put up a fight for a day or 2 and then went down like a sack of ****. If anything, I'd say all this drama gave BTC only more power cause a once-serious challenger appeared and looked good for a moment but then got taken down and BTC ended up reaching a new ATH

Alt coins will not recover until bitcoin CORRECTS HARD, like a real natural correction and trades sideways for awhile. Last 5.5k correction doesn't count, that lasted only a few days and was caused by manipulation. Then when bitcoin starts recovering for the hard correction and on its way to a new ATH, that is when alts will boom as well. I don't think this is happening until next year. However there will be a few alts that will do well during this time period, mostly GOAT's picks and PBC picks.

Sold half my remaining WTC at 66k sats during that mini pump right after the fork block. I'm now like 60% out after pulling some out for BCH last weekend. I'll get back in in late December/early January if it's still low but until then I think I can get better returns elsewhere

I didn't think the fork was happening for a few more hours. Can anyone confirm?

If I were in your shoes I would do like 3% BTC and 2% ETH. Just make sure to use gemini or Gdax so you don't inquire the huge fees from coinbase. I think long term everyone hopes 2 years from now that you will get 200-300% returns over time. So if you're not comfortable trying to trade, then just buy when you can with what you can and let it ride for a couple years.
Though the 2-3x are no guarantee. Obviously there is always the chance it goes the other way and your money goes down the drain, but most people here are hopeful that won't happen including myself.

Following up on my tether comment above. Was thinking this through more and it seems tether works like a store credit. You can use it to buy things at the exchange/store but you can't cash it out for USD and it doesn't have any USD value outside the exchange.

Hmmm. Nothing is moving. I keep waiting for something to explode but nothing happening.
That's a good way to look at it.
If that tax expert guy is right and every transaction needs to be claimed, then I don't see the point of tether if it has the same tax implications as cashing out to USD.Toxic Masculinity

I think the alt market is waiting to evolve to a higher level before we see the next major alt pump. Just think how far crypto has come in the last 4 months alone. We need an earth shattering company to come along ready to make money now rather than crowdfund their startup. This ain't your grandfather's crypto anymore.
