I ended up driving by a new place that opened up by me so figured I would give it a shot. It's called "The Protein House", which is a bit on the "bro" side in my opinion but surprisingly good food. Super lean/healthy style place that is geared toward people who eat healthy and work out. Most of their meals run around 50 - 70 grams of protein and actually taste pretty good.
I wonder how big of a market there would be for a healthy eating establishment that is geared toward people lifting and working out?

Looks like a step in the right direction compared to most places around. I shun places like Red Lobster, Outhouse Steak Back, TGI Fridays, etc. Too much salt, bad carbs and over all calories, unless you're out for a cheat meal or on a dirty bulk. I gravitate towards Japanese places, even Japanese-fusion is pretty good. So many better choices and if you don't see something on the menu, chances they will make it for you.

Went to a Chinese buffet for lunch. For $43 I looked at the bland whitefish and 2 other healthy options and was like "nah, I came for some Chinese food." Kept it to 2 plates and had some veggies.
Good grief at some of the people in there though, there was a woman pushing maybe 230 lbs, she was there when we got there and had no intention of leaving when we left. I like to eat, but at some point I get full and move on to other things FFSDon't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Too bad there aren't more places like this around. Looking at the "lean bowl" offerings, could definitely go for that Thai Monster Bowl for lunch after a workout. I tend to bring food to work with me to remain disciplined; most restaurants near where I work are either fairly unhealthy or would take far too long to go to during lunch.

I wish we had something like this (or even half-way towards this) near me. Everything around here is either fried or slathered in BBQ sauce. I went through PH's menu, a lot of those items you could adapt and make at home too, it's a good resource for some meal ideas.
I am SO craving a bison burger right now- it's my favorite burger protein and so so hard to find in my area.

I would certainly try it if there was one in my area. And probably be a regular visitor if I liked the food.
I don't think they will do very well if only the people who are seriously on a high protein diet go there. That niche looks much too small to be good business. At the end of the day, they need to offer food that people enjoy, for a reasonable price.
