Sounds like they are going to give us some destruction but they dodged the question kind of. I would love bad company type destruction but it may not be possible.

Battlefield has always had machine guns(LMG, Assault rifle, etc.) as the main weapons, given that machine guns were rarely present(generally large, 2 man teams when used) in WWI and the primary weapon was bolt action rifles, it will be interesting to see. Also, the focus on melee weapons is really weird. I'm a massive fan of Battlefield, would really rather just see modern era games with better graphics, gameplay mechanics and feel. Battlefield Vietnam was amazing, BF2142 is amazing, Battlefield BC2, BF3, BF4 are all fantastic. Will be really interesting to play this significant departure from the series, I just hope it's a good departure as Hardline was terrible IMO.

They did say it will be WWI from a different viewpoint. Did they mean from a different fighting force or a different reality? We'll have to wait until Oct and hope for the best.

this is what im most excited about. currently it takes around 2.5 seconds with good aim to kill someone with an assault rifle. that doesn't leave much time for the average life of a player. with bolt-action rifles i think things will be more intense due to how much harder it is to kill someone or how much more possible it is to survive being shot at

Fact.

They emphasized they wanted to create close combat, however, knowing that BF maps tend to be huge, how will they do this? I'm thinking they'll have restrictions on weapons for certain maps, and/or as more players join the server, the maps expand unlocking the potential use for more weapons for longer distance combat.

I really really hope they somehow find a way to bring teamwork back together and fuk off with the stat sheet, although its cool to look at it once in a while, not everything has to be shown all the time.

I haven't played BF since 2010/11 in BF3 and it wasn't each that much, too. I logged the most hours in BFV by far.

WWI has never been properly explored, but WWI/WWII in general needs next gen representation. It's essentially been 10 years.

Bold move on their part by going with World War I, a war that folks of this generation and the previous generation have all but completely forgotten about. As a lifelong history buff, I am extremely happy and excited for this.
