I suggest doing the power versions of the clean and of the snatch and becoming masterful at them before doing the full squat versions. There's a ton of online instruction for them, but beware, there is also some stupid **** out there, as well. I studied a lot of Olympic snatch competitions in 1/4 time to learn the technique, before attempting it. Then and there, I decided to master the power version first. The stronger you get in the power versions, the more confidence you'll have to drop under the bar (dumbbells, in my case).

Really? So to learn the SNATCH, you advise he practices only 2/3 of the movement using equipment that is completely different than that used for what OP wants to learn.
You're not going to learn how to snatch, which is performed with a barbell, by practicing dumbbell power snatches. Sure, technically it's a snatch as in the weight goes from the ground to overhead in one movement, but the two are completely different.
OP - Canned answer is
FIND A COACH (if you're in the US)

No? You said you're already experiencing shoulder pain but you still want to go it alone? You're going to take longer, develop bad habits anyway, limit progress and probably hurt yourself.
Is the pain during and briefly after dumping the weight from the rack position? A decent coach could diagnose and recommend a fix within minutes. You're going to spend days or even weeks trying to pinpoint the problem, but even then what to do to fix it?
Still want to go it alone?
Learn the FULL movements from the top down. Use these as a starting point, this is one of three for the snatch.

And one of three for the clean.

FNG37 makes some good points, and that book is an excellent value, I have a copy, lots of info in there pertaining to all sorts of lifting, warming up, GPP.
I am re-learning this stuff now. (was coached in X-fit, and separate oly club a couple of years ago) one thing that helped me get going again this past summer was creating simple complexes;
Snatch dead-lift+snatch pull+power snatch+ overhead squat.
Just do it with an empty bar , pvc pipe, technique bar, or even a 28mm dia steel bar (weighs more than pvc, but less than a 15 or 20kg bar) eventually this could be your warm up routine anyway.
Assuming you already have good back and Front squat technique, This should grease your mobility.If not go back and work on that first.
Find out what is going on with your shoulder tho first.Please record my time/reps if I pass out
