Do you mean where the plates go? Not much you can do about that. Powder coating would be tougher than any auto paint, and even powder coating comes off.
Sorry. I don't have any good ideas. Engine block paint will scrape off, and bed liner would be too thick. I'm stumped.

Automotive touch up paint can work in some cases. The picture didn't appear for me but if powdercoat is flaking off, not much you can do except don't think about it, it means it didn't bond properly initially, possibly from improper surface preparation and/or contaminants on the metal.

If I'm looking at it correctly, that's the weight horn? Trying to keep a coating on a weight horn is a wasted of time. If it was mine and it was bothering me, I'd strip it and 'polish' the metal itself.

All of my weight horns on equipment gets sanded down and afterwards I wipe them with an oiled cloth occasionally as needed.Originally Posted by chadsalt

Typical William strength maintenance I own a dozen of their machines this is what I do, sand down lightly wd40 that rust off wait a day spray lightly with rustoleum primer that rust colored spray the wait a day and spray lightly with a matte black
I cannot stress this enough spray lightly
Should last years and can be wiped down wd40 monthly will stay on
