Thank you again for taking the time to reply!
We mostly sell the Bravo Advanced (short & tall versions). It can go as low as $5600 + Devilry/Install and Tax retail wise.

The Pro is quite a unit also if you have the extra space for it. Lists for about 1k more so relatively it can go for $6400.

Hi gym62richard. Can you tell me what you didn't like about the Legend Functional Trainers? This may really help in keeping them on my list or taking them off. Thank you very much for your response!

New Atl listing for freemotion ft.
    https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/s...364431048.html
Personally I've gone back and forth on the ft vs cable crossover debate. I think eventually I will buy a cable crossover for tricep and chest work.

SKI, I made my purchase today. Went with bodycraft HFP. The rep cut me good deal and i was just tired of losing sleep and researching haha. I did ask him if he sells everywhere he does not just CHI. If you want his number let me know. I ended up getting the HFP w/ upgraded stacks and F605 bench for 2500 out the door and installed. (got 500 for my trade in gym, I was looking for like 700 on craigslist for it so 500 was fair)

in the end it came down to the HFP and FT2 but i just didnt have the height for the FT2.

Thanks for the update rdogg, I really hope you like your selection. You will need to keep me updated on how it is working out for you. Sounds like you got a good deal. I am in the same boat, I am tired of researching and trying to make a decision. I have decided to go with the Cybex unit if I can get my dealer to cut me a good deal. I really like the FT2's options and abilities but I am just not sold on the quality of materials used as it does not appear like it would hold up for the long term. I did check out the Hoist Mi7 Smith Function Trainer System online and was pretty impressed with all it can do, especially the Smith part of the machine. That part really impressed me but once again, they are asking 7K for the whole system and they are using plastic pieces on parts of it. That was a major disappointment, especially for something they are asking 7 thousand dollars for. I think I could probably get it in the mid 5K range but again, plastic. I can't find anyone that has anything really good to say about the Legend piece so I am eliminating that one from my list. The FreeMotion pieces are just too big for my space in my basement so I am eliminating them from my list. Now it just comes down to getting my local dealer to get me a good price on the Cybex piece and I will get what I want. I will keep you updated on the status of my purchase. Thanks again for all of your input, it was very helpful.

I agree on the mi7 seems overpriced. Did you checkout the Bodycraft Jones, I looked at that but to much money for me. I was nervous about inspire ft1 and ft2 as well, just seemed a little cheap which is why i went with the HFT vs FT1 they are very identical but thought bodycraft just felt more solid. FT2 is just so innovative and cool with how the weights tie into bar. Good luck on your search, I will finally go to bed early

The hoist MI7 primarily uses plastic in the appropriate places to hide moving parts or for adjustment clarity. Its also not just plastic, it a high impact plastic or a rubber.

You will notice the yellow parts are the plastic ones to hide joints or highlight adjustments (besides shrouds). So that's probably .001% or the construction. But it is only a light commercial unit, its not full commercial like the Cybex.

Side note, you can buy the cage and the FT separately. In the end its pretty awesome, but the Cybex as an FT is far better.

Mentioned it in another thread but if you are willing to spend $ and want full commercial...this with integrated bench combo is really an exceptional unit. Easily on par with the Bravo...probably as good or better. Mech6 based his design off this one for his own and Alextheman's FT. Prime is relatively close to me and I'll check it out at some point. Figure I'd make sure you saw it ahead of settling in on a decision as no one else has mentioned it (likely because no one has seen one in person).

Hey C123C, I took a look at the Prime Fitness website. Very impressed with the equipment they make. Any idea on their pricing or time it takes to actually receive equipment once you purchase something from them. I would definitely be interested in their functional trainer, power racks and benches. I e-mailed them requesting information, curious how long it takes them to respond and what their prices are. Any idea how long they have been in business?

They respond pretty quickly. Here is my contact. Prices as with all commercial gym manufacturers are 'negotiable' as they sell in volume at discounts so their retail pricing isn't "hard" so to speak. That said, Prime makes quality stuff so it won't be cheap. The FT in particular is at the top end of the market. I just moved and toyed with the idea of getting one but I've spent so much on house/furnishing that I need some non-spend months here too. Plus the reality is I'm a barbell/freeweight guy. This would fill a tertiary spot for me after barbells and dumbbells. Spending big dollars on something in slot #3 isn't high on my list so I'm just waiting.

I'm not sure it's going to compete with the best FT units out there, but Rep Fitness just threw their name into the hat:

EDIT: I really like the Cybex Bravo, and that Prime FT looks fantastic.

I took a look at the link you sent, not bad looking. Definitely something to consider but doesn't appear to be near top of the line or anything like that. Thanks for the information though, it is always good to consider all options.

Ripper238, do you sell out of state? Those prices on the Cybex Bravo Advanced look better than my local supplier. Is there someplace I can reach you (DM)?

    1. FreeMotion Light Commercial EXT Dual Cable Cross

    2. Legend SelectEDGE Functional Trainer

    3. Inspire FT2

    4. Cybex Bravo

    5. Precor FTS Glide

First, I can say I have searched this forum on this topic for the past several days. I have read several posts, and have learned quite a bit. But I would like your opinion comparing the above listed models as to which you think would be the best value for the money. I am looking for anyone who can give me their opinion on which model they think is the best all around model and why. From the research I have done so far, I believe the Cybex is one of the best quality machines on the list, but I am very reluctant to spend the money on such an expensive machine unless someone can give me a very good justification for doing so. I am basically looking to add the best all around functional trainer for the money value wise to my home gym. I am currently in the process of upgrading my home gym and will be purchasing a Rogue Monster Rack with attachments. I already have the free weight side covered as I already own a good amount of free weights, but want to round out my gym with the best functional trainer that I can get without breaking the bank. No, I am not made of money, but due to health issues, my wife and I have made a complete lifestyle change since the beginning of the year and have set aside a little money for this purpose. I value your opinion, so if you have any knowledge of any of the above listed trainers and would be willing to spend a few minutes typing up something for me, I would be very grateful for your time! If you know of another make/model that I should seriously consider, I would love to hear your opinion on that as well. Thank you in advance!

For what it's worth,I have the Inspire FT2 and I love it. Fits in my 88" tall basement with a small footprint..Looked at the Bravo but it was double the cost of the inspire. Paid $3000 new last year. Dealer took $1000 off after some haggling. I use it on every workout in some way or another. Super smooth and very versatile.

I'm a big fan of both Inspire FT's, functionally very good and extremely smooth, but the Cybex Bravo all in one is on another planet, the tall version with the 2.1 pulley ratio is on my hit list, just an incredibly well thought out piece of equipment.

Picking up a used/ex demo unit in first class condition is proving to be difficult, but my search goes on.

Picking up a used/ex demo unit in first class condition is proving to be difficult, but my search goes on.
FYI..Natick,Massachusetts has a Bravo short..(not sure of ratio) listed for $1800 on Facebook market place

We do, but its usually better to buy local since the shipping on these things can be killer. Price can also depend on how much a dealer buys, we are the largest Cybex dealer in the US so we should be a little cheaper than most.

    Got your PM.
