    Results from last show and critique request...

    So I did manage to compete on September 9th despite everything that was going on after Hurricane Harvey screwed the pooch here in Houston. I took 1st in my height class which surprised the crap out of me because the Physique crossover gal certainly had me on development and size. Guess it was a certain look they were going for this day. So now I’m Nationally qualified but don’t think I’m going to do anything with it. I’m cool with keeping to the smaller shows while I continue to build more size to keep up with the “enhanced” ladies.

    The worst part of competing for me is getting the timing right on pumping up before heading out on stage. I missed the mark a little on pre-judging but after a margarita and some fajitas for lunch I hit the mark at the night show...

    It seems like every year they miss at least one shot. Last year it was my back pose and this year it was the front...maybe next time we will get them all...

    So despite my “I look 8 weeks out” at the 3 week out mark, I am completely happy with my results as I definitely brought my leanest package (excluding my first competition where I was just super hard and dry). Striated glutes y’all!!

    Definitely know widening the last and shoulders is always a focus.

    I wish they would’ve gotten my front pose because I really think I need more size in my lower and outer quads.

    I can see where you would say that about your quads, yes. You have more of the parenthesis shape, not the bracket shape, to them...if that makes sense.

    Yes I know exactly what you mean. Looking from behind I think if I can get more of that outer quad sweep it will help make my waist look smaller which is definitely my weakest point in my eyes. Still trying to learn how to pose around that.

    Stand making a "V" with your feet, heels together, toes apart (not too much or you'll get dinged) and try to point your knees as far to the sides as you can.

    Exactly! Imagine that you are screwing your feet into the ground. Find the sweet spot with your feet. Too far forward and you don't get the spread you want, too far out it looks bad and gets you dinged, I also find at a certain point I just don't get the leverage I want either. I was just working on this with my posing coach yesterday, actually!

    It can be uncomfortable, depending on your hip mobility, at least, it is for me, and I can get some pretty silly cramps, but you do what you have to do, it's not like you have to stand like that for an hour LOL.

    I would message your npc org for your state and see if you can get feed back from the judges-this is typically what I have clients do so we know exactly what to work on for the offseason
