I've heard it's good.
Costco pretty near me has a decent selection at good prices. Was there today and picked up some Elijah Craig. But they had Makers, Bulleit, Larceny, Breckenridge, and a few others along with the Kirkland Premium Small Batch which is pretty good.
There's a liquor superstore in the same area that is pretty close (or better) in price and has a gigantic bourbon area, so I tend to go there a bit more often. That Costco is crazy-busy most of the time. I was only there today because I picked up a new laptop for the Mrs.

Tonights line up will be Four Roses Single Barrel, Ledaig 21 and finishing off with Octomore 11.1.
Had a Vieux Carre the other night made with Wild Turkey 101 rye. You need to try one. Delicious!Official Supp. Misc Beer Crew

If one wanted a celebratory bottle in the $150-300 range what would you choose?
Also, if you got something in the $500-700 range for a celebration is there a significant difference in quality of said $500 bottle vs a $250 bottle?Fitness connoisseur

I haven't either, but I'd like 1 nice bottle that is more expensive for special occasions. I was just kinda curious too if paying significantly more yielded a significantly better drink or if its one of those things where diminishing return comes into play and you basically end up paying for the name on the bottle more than anything.

Does it yield a better drink, not necessarily. Most flavor profiles dull and by dull, I mean they become softer and mellower. They flow with a smooth transition from one to the other. They don't have that reach up and slap you in the face big bold flavors of younger spirits. That's just my 2c. As far as purchasing goes, it all really depends on what you want to spend. More money spent doesn't always mean a better product. This probably doesn't help but it's always nice to break out that bottle or 2 for a special occasion.

I finally get to try it! I bought a bottle of this during the holiday season at Costco when they put them on sale. I do enjoy it, definitely a slow sipper. It should not have the price tag that it has. I do not regret buying it."I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out."

north of $150 i'm going Wild Turkey Master's Keep or Elmer T Lee.
or i'm getting 2 bottles of Bookers.
i don't think my taste is there yet but i've never honestly felt the difference in a bottle north of like $300 vs options that are $100-$150. i've had pappy 15yr and whistle pig 18 year (rye), both priced through the roof, honestly did not "taste" the difference vs options at half or less the cost. but that might be on me for not being able to appreciate it yet.Last edited by Murph0408; 02-15-2021 at 03:07 PM.

Regular Elijah Craig is available everywhere here in Central Ohio, every store, every time.
I think Im boycotting them just out of principle based on my post below from a couple weeks ago. lol
Ironically, I picked up a bottle of white label Russells Reserve 10 year yesterday and can confirm it sh!ts all over EC in that same price bracket.

Same here, I can’t go back now. I have set up a routine to make minimum 4 clear cubes a day and store them.

Went to the store to get the fixings to make Vieux Carre's. Wild Turkey 101 Rye, Pierre Ferrand 1st Cru de Cognac, Sweet Vermouth, Angostura and Peuchad's bitters and I haven't made a single on yet. This damn ice event down here is ruining things. lol All I do is work and sleep now.

My dad managed to score a bottle of 10 yo Rip Van Winkle. We'll be popping it open at the crawfish boil in 3 weeks. My whiskey club bottle is ready for pick up. This month's bottle is Rabbit Hole Rye. I haven't had any of their offerings so, if you've had any of Rabbit Holes wares, let me know what you thought of the it. Thank ya
