My last failed squat rep was From pins... learning the motor pattern.

It Just didn't want to break as I was out of position more than not strong enough i feel..
Didn't grind, but there was quite some isometric force for a second then just relaxed.

Personally i dont think ive missed a single full rom Squat in 3 years, not counting a couple of reps that i just choose to take to and rest on the pins after commiting to the rep then not feeling I needed to push it out..

Some really enjoy blowin their load and get good psychological gains From grinding for an age after missing a few times. Sense of accomplishment and force of will. Not for me at this time. Lol.
Physique: obviously lifts, likes ale & pizza!

    Yesterday's pull day log:

    Tuesday, 14/11/17 - Cycle 5, Deadlift 5/3/1+ / Pull A

    Preworkout

    5g creatine, 6g citrulline

    Warmup

Dynamic upper and lower body stretches
    GHR @ BW x 10,10

    Deadlift

    Warmup Sets

    70 x 5
    80 x 5
    90 x 3
    100 x 2

    Working Sets

    115 x 5
    130 x 5
    145 x 5 - Rep PR

    Lat Pulldown (Plate loaded)

    40 x 10
    45 x 10
    47.5 x 8

    Dumbbell BOR

    28 x 10
    28 x 10
    28 x 13

    Face Pull

    50 x 16
    54 x 12
    59 x 10

    EZ Bar Curls

    30 x 12
    30 x 7

    Forearm said no

    Tried to do hammer curls

    Hands & grip said no

    Bae Curls

    9 x 14
    9 x 14
    9 x 14

So, yeah. Deadlift felt insanely heavy. Probably because it was. 5 reps at that weight was no joke. Had to take pretty long pauses between the last 2 reps.

Then I went heavy as fuark on the pulldowns and rows. Some cheating on the rows with a little body English, but it fried the hell out of my lats going both heavy and high rep

    Face pulls, went heavy again.

And then. Curls. Eurgh. Still so frustrating. I could really overload my biceps with a lot of weight if I wasn't getting this forearm pain. My biceps aren't even a limiting factor in the lift, so I feel like I can never properly train them with heavy weight. Fixed supination + isometric flexion is what causes it and I can't seem to find any way around it. Gonna try doing reverse grip curls and see if that helps.

All in all strong as hell today though. Lots of heavy weight being thrown around felt good. Deadlifts may have been easier if it wasn't for a heavy leg day the day before tbh.
    Current stats:

    183cm / 6'0"
    90kg / 200lb

    DL: 170kg / 375lb
    SQ: 130kg / 285lb
    BP: 90kg / 200lb

im def dropping the weight y'all!!!

prolly just going to start back again at 2 plate.. i havent lifted in over a week anyway.. gonna need time to recover and regroove anyway.

I've got a tripod now and 24hr gym, so I can go late at night and **** around with it as much as I want.

can go harder on leg press or something to make up for it. this is why I'm liking some of the freedom in the intermediate plan...

I hit that 5 rep a little while back.. was freaking difficult. DL don't **** around. You can be doing 3x5 of 10-20lb lower and then get owned by 1x5...

My silly self was attempting to jump up to 3x5 of 3 plates since I hadn't added weight in a while due to recovery issues... big mistake xD reset city!

I'll take a picture of my new gym's 3 plates... they are like super massive plates that look like 1500lb....

Didn't lift yesterday so did a full body workout. Was able to work up to 335 without pain. Could have went higher but didn't want to push it. Did floor press and light rdls. My back feels alot better.

    11/18/17

So I tweaked my lower back on Thursday when I was warming up for hang cleans. Didn't brace my core and I tweaked it. Took some advil and used a lacrosse ball to mash my glutes. Felt a little bit better. Skipped my workout yesterday so I did a full body workout.

    * Barbell Squat **
    - Total Sets: 3
    - Total Reps: 3
    - 315.0 lbs x 1 rep
    - 335.0 lbs x 1 rep
    - 335.0 lbs x 1 rep

Didn't feel like putting sleeves on so yea. Was able to comfortably work up to 335 without pain. Didn't want to push it so I just did singles.

    ** Beltless Back Squat **
    - Total Sets: 3
    - Total Reps: 15
    - 225.0 lbs x 5 reps
    - 225.0 lbs x 5 reps
    - 225.0 lbs x 5 reps

    Some volume work.

    ** Floor Press **
    - Total Sets: 6
    - Total Reps: 19
    - 185.0 lbs x 3 reps
    - 205.0 lbs x 3 reps
    - 225.0 lbs x 1 rep
    - 245.0 lbs x 2 reps
    - 205.0 lbs x 5 reps
    - 205.0 lbs x 5 reps

Hit a weight PR. 245x2, could have done another rep but the 2nd rep was kinda slow.

    ** Seated Machine Curl **
    - Total Sets: 3
    - Total Reps: 36
    - 115.0 lbs x 12 reps
    - 115.0 lbs x 12 reps
    - 115.0 lbs x 12 reps

    ** Leg Extension Machine **
    - Total Sets: 3
    - Total Reps: 45
    - 55.0 lbs x 15 reps
    - 70.0 lbs x 15 reps
    - 70.0 lbs x 15 reps

    ** Romanian Deadlift **
    - Total Sets: 3
    - Total Reps: 45
    - 135.0 lbs x 15 reps
    - 135.0 lbs x 15 reps
    - 135.0 lbs x 15 reps

Did some light rdls to bring blood to my lower back. Felt pretty good. Most of the pain is gone thankfully. Still plan on deloading next week anyways.

Also did some hanging leg raises, machine rows and pull ups to help decompress my spine.

    What up boyos.

    Copy pasted from my thread:

    Preworkout

5g creatine, 6g citrulline, coffee (approx 100mg caffeine)

    Warmup

    Dynamic stretches
Internal & external cable shoulder rotations (horizontal and vertical plane - total of 4 x 10 per side) @ 9kg

    Pull up/OHP Giant Set

    Warmup Sets - OHP

    20 x 10
    25 x 10
    30 x 5
    35 x 5

    Working Sets

Band assisted Pull up / OHP / Mountain Climbers

    8 / 45 x 5 / 30s
    7 / 50 x 5 / 30s
    6 / 55 x 5 - Rep PR / 30s
    x 5 pullups

    CGBP

(Index finger on edge of knurling)

    Warmup Sets

    20 x 10
    30 x 10

    Working Sets

    60 x 6
    70 x 5
80 x 4 - Technically these were all rep PRs but we'll just take the last one

    T Bar Row

    (Bar weight not counted)

    45 x 10
    45 x 10
    45 x 10 - 30 x 6 (SS)

    Face Pull

    41 x 15
    41 x 15
    41 x 15

    Reverse Curl

    17.5 x 10
    17.5 x 12
    17.5 x 10

    Conditioning

Kettlebell swings (22kg KB) / Farmers walks (46kg dumbbells) / Medicine ball slams (10kg med ball)

    20 reps / 40 metres / 10 reps / rest 30 seconds

    6 rounds

    Then death.

So this may have been the most ridiculous workout I've ever decided to put myself through. Wanted to experiment with doing the giant sets, as I'll be moving on to Brian Alsruhe's powerbuilding program during my cut next year. Nice PR on the OHP, but veeeeerry shaky on the last rep. Core stability was gone. Breathing was heavy. Giant sets may not be for me at my current level of fitness as I think they'll really impede my main lifts, but we'll see when I drop the weight at the start of the program if it becomes more manageable. In the program, if I'm going heavy on my main lift, I'd be going light on assistance and medium on conditioning, but today I went heavy/heavy/heavy.

CGBP was nice. I have never done it before (aside from the hands basically touching bro version) so by default everything was a PR. Would have had 5 at 80kg but my forearms were completely giving up on me by that point. Still good though. Triceps/10.

Rows were rows and face pulls were face pulls. Not much to say.

Reverse curls. Hooray, they don't hurt my forearms. Looks like these will be my go-to. I also want bigger forearms anyway and don't give a huge amount of phucks about my biceps so that kinda fits the bill.

    Conditioning. Was. Hell.

I shouldn't have gone so heavy tbh. After watching Brian's videos I was like, "Well, in strongman, they have bodyweight per hand, so if I go with half that it won't be hard!"

WRONG. My grip strength is nahhhht good enough to sustain that weight comfortably for that many rounds. I did it, but I lost grip several times and essentially had to deadlift the dumbbells back up which wasn't fun. I was breathing VERY hard.

Everything is sore today. Everything. Awesome workout though.
    Current stats:

    183cm / 6'0"
    90kg / 200lb

    DL: 170kg / 375lb
    SQ: 130kg / 285lb
    BP: 90kg / 200lb

    .. er yeah!

How the **** is your Floor press that heavy compared to your bench Dbag? Jeez man.. mine is ~90% of my pause bench..

Are you deloading and resting triceps relaxed on the Floor the classic way, to kill myotatic reflex or just tng... The second would explain it, more like a 2board... But solid af either way!
