Drum brahs - which of these snare drums would you get? (reps offspread)

maple over steel. Only time metal snares sound good is bellbrass IMO.
Then again I did love the reverends cheap tin snare sound.
But personally i'm about the tone wood. Check out some of the new Tama custom ones too, insane

thanks mate, I thought that the pearl one would be good in one situation and one situation only (loud rock/metal), and the wood ones would be better actually sounding nice. when I heard danny carey playing for the first time I thought he was using a wooden snare but it's just a normal snare with the snares off (it still sounds 'woody' though), weirdly.
nice one on the tama I never thought to look at their snares. also the ludwig black beauty should be looked at surely? (i know it's alot more expensive though)
thank you mate, I was looking for reasons not to get the mapex one because I thought it would be too quiet but the guy used it in fuggin lamb of god so I think it would be alright!!
also I didn't notice the other knob on the opposide side of the snare releaser, on the mapex. nice!Overthinking, overanalysing separates the body from the mind
