If you are not being specific to a fed, the cheapest best power bar for squatting is from Jesup. I've seen over 900 squatted, no issues. It's a little bigger diameter than the typical power bar. I've had mine for several years. I used them in the power racks and they are tanks. I have a number of bars, 3 TX squat bars, they are great. But, they are much pricier. Got to jesupgym.com. it's the 1500 lb bar center knurling.

I absolutely love my Jesup power bar. I drove there and picked mine up and a couple other pieces of equipment like a power tech adjustable roman chair/45 degree hyper. And you can train there for $1. Has a store front selling lots of supplements and then a gym off to the side. Outside is a big warehouse. Really nice guy. Big dude and he used to be a weightlifter.
This was about 10 years ago and I got the black oxide version of the bar. Since then it now has a bright zinc coating. But still looks like it has the same perfect deep knurl that is not sharp at all. Feels awesome. 32mm thick bar is solid on the back and in the hands. When mix gripping for deadlifts it really builds up grip strength and makes pulling on 27 or 29mm bars at a meet seem like a toy.
I've suggested this bar to people for years. But the last couple people to call up Jesup recently said he wasn't shipping anymore. I don't know if that was a temporary thing or not but was earlier this year. Worth calling the guy for a great cheap beater bar that holds up really well.Last edited by Jason2459; 11-16-2018 at 05:36 AM.

Dec 15 is coming soon (or is it 16th?)
https://youtu.be/roDvPcDmfDE
Excited for December, mostly just want to see him staybinjiry free and pull 1000 but that squat is unreal too.
Not excited for the comparatively low bench and all the schit talk from dumb people though.
Edit: to clarify the above video just popped up on my feed, don’t know details of date etc but apparently he has squatted more (see below)

Yeah that top 400k squat is recent from thor, he has squatted 970 before, spring 2018 ish I think. Pretty excited to see what he puts up. And to see if Kirill is going to really push for a PR of some kind at that meet or just hit some giant bench (sub 738) and walk away.

Anyone ever have success in getting their elbows a bit less fragile by doing super high rep work like Louie recommends for tendon strength?
I think my triceps are too strong for my elbows, which is really saying something about how weak my elbow tendons are.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

Lou is pretty sharp...I did what worked for me. I have judged too many of his lifters and have seen him work with athletes from other sports. I've seen him spend a session with weightlifters and having them hit pr's before they left.

thor's squats
420 - no lift
440 - good
460 - no lift
bench
235 - not sure
245 - not sure
250 - good lift
last I saw he was warming up on deadlifts on kirill's story. He's doing better than I thought he would so far, and I'm glad they're not gifting him potentially high squats.
edit: I'm an idiot; thought the post 2 up was his previous training bests, didn't realize someone had already posted what's been done so far lolLast edited by adamsz; 12-15-2018 at 09:30 AM.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Thor joins the 1100 club at his first meet. Except kgs, not lbs.
2425 total pretty ridiculous.
And is he now the only one to ever have squatted and pulled 900+ in the same meet? Or has that been done raw before, can't remember. I know many are close.
Third squat looked fine to me. What a crazy performance.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC
