had a bad shoulder injury at the end of last year that made it so I couldn't do any barbell movements at all. Had all the symptoms of a labrum tear.
Spent the last 6 months training like a bodybuilder - starting first with mainly machines then slowly adding in more and more movements as my shoulder got better.
This past month I've added CGBP back in and it seemed fine. In the last week did some wide grip bench pressing which felt alright and then deadlifted for the first time since January and got 405 for 5 without a belt on a chitty stiff bar. Shoulder seems to be holding up ok.
Things might looking up finally... was so hard to keep my ego in check the last 6 months while training at a commercial gym and wanting to do those movements anytime I saw another person doing them with a somewhat respectable weight. Like "hey I can do that too!"
Now to slowly add in more sets and reps. Don't wanna jump back into an actual powerlifting routine too quickly because I fear it could potentially undo 6 months of rehab if I increase the intensity/frequency/volume too quickly.
/dear diaryAwesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Yea. He tried to recruit hard for the meet, but I guess it's not good timing. The top equipped lifters just competed at Nationals in May and are probably doing raw off season work before they begin prep for Worlds in November. It's not the best timing for the top raw lifters either, because they just competed at Worlds in June and may not want to spend money to travel and compete again. But at least some 2nd tier raw lifters get to compete and win some money.

Yea, was just expecting raw for the money or raw with wraps for some kind of all time record. Looks like Sherman was coaching him and maybe he convinced Dennis to try out a light suit.
I don't know how far it's from the airport, but I feel like Atlanta is a cheap city to fly into. If it were a better time, then maybe could get Doc, Dale, Tony Walton, Knute, Bottesy, Lara, and Becci to do it.1372 @ 205

Sup fam. Been a quite a while since I've checked the boards out.
I am moving for a new job and the new house is on a 2 acres. Planning on building a detached garage/shed myself and finally having my dream home gym.
Any of you converted or built a garage/shed for a gym? Any tips? Things you wished you had done differently? I am probably going to go all out and have all utilities ran so I can put a small bathroom in as well.Best raw lifts: 670/480/675 | http://www.youtube.com/user/invain622002 | IG: NsattPL

Ductless ac
I was shocked at the difference it makes. Remember, hvac dehumidifies as well as cools and heats
Buy some fans and don't scrimp on flooring
My electric bill actual went down and the gym is way more comfortable

Definitely vote on the split unit too.
2x6 framing with really good insulation
Agree as well with good flooring on top of strong thick concrete slab and footings. Rolled mats are a nice touch.
Lighting. Lots of lighting.
Durable wall protection like metal wainscoting or plywood walls.
Full bath with shower.
Sauna

Laying horse stall mats will work. Just be aware they shrink and expand through the seasons. You can end up with some good gaps in the winter. Rolled rubber mats have fewer seems and can hid them or glue them better. Just more expensive especially if you get a decent thickness.
Could epoxy the floor and lay mats in select areas. Or thinner roll mats to save a bit on cost and lay thicker mats where you'll deadlift. My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

I used stall mats
The ductless units yes. I got 3-1 ton units and put them in different areas in the gym. I also have fans hanging as needed. The difference is immense.Squat: 1,040
