Brutal. Happy it's nothing really serious at least (like a joint break of some kind). Could have been a lot worse. That re-racking style is scary to watch, especially with an ER rack rather than a super heavy power rack.

Seen many er rack type failures over the years. They are great for a meet with spotters but I wouldn't touch one anymore for training.

Westside vs the world production is supposed to be close to getting out of legal limbo. The partner that got arrested and emptied their account supposedly gave a verbal agreement to a settlement so the DVD can be released but he has to get some papers signed to make it legal. Just waiting on that now.

well, I would disagree with that, especially if I owned the federation.

Look, people are going to try to enter meets like that and every other high end meet. If you own everything, so be it, do whatever you want and reap what you sow but, she doesn't own anything. It's done with in the scope of a federation and someone else's money and both parties, I would imagine, weren't happy. I wouldn't be.

that kind of stuff catches up. This isn't the first time and eventually, there will be fall out and a cost. I have seen it happen before.

Anybody tried acoustic wave therapy in replacement of something like graston? Wife and I have a friend that is a pro power lifter and IFBB pro bodybuilder and she convinced us to try it out. I was pretty amazed at how well it worked, but sessions are not cheap.

Seriously considering just buying a unit for a few grand, would easily pay for itself over a year or two. Anybody know if this is something that requires some kind of license to purchase? I don’t really see why it would but haven’t done a lot of research into the units yet.

Yeah I was real skeptical until I had it done. It’s pretty crazy how much you feel it and how deep into the tissue it gets. I have a pretty thick upper body but nowhere near bodybuilder size and it’s almost impossible to get real deep in areas like my shoulders with other deep tissue techniques.

Literally never felt as big a difference after one session than I did with the acoustic wave stuff. Wife felt the same way.

Looks like it finally caught up to her

Hello Everyone,

I want to address a situation that took place last week. Gracie Davis, the USPA meet director for the Kern US Open, responded in an inappropriate manner to an athlete who inquired via email about participating in the Kern US Open. I was fully aware of the situation as soon as it was posted, I have read many of the comments, and I share in your frustrations.

As most of you know, this incident occurred immediately before my departure to host the Olympia Pro Powerlifting event in Las Vegas, so I was unable to publicly address the issue until I had an opportunity to consult with my executive staff to formulate an appropriate course of action. I also met personally with Russell Kern in Las Vegas and we had a lengthy and productive discussion about this situation. I appreciate Russell’s professionalism and understanding of the seriousness of this problem and his support of the decision I’ve made going forward. My decision is as follows:

The USPA is no longer sanctioning or participating in the 2019 Kern US Open, and
Gracie Davis will no longer be a meet director for any USPA events, and
Gracie Davis’s referee status in the USPA is indefinitely suspended.


I want to be very clear about some fundamental principals that I feel all USPA officials and members need to understand. Whether you’re a prospective lifter looking for a place to compete, a new lifter entering your first contest, or an elite level veteran, I expect EVERYONE in the USPA to be treated equally with compassion, kindness, and respect. We want to foster an inviting, supportive, and fun experience where people can admire each other’s achievements, cheer for their friends and family, build lasting friendships, and give something positive back to the sport to make a difference in peoples lives. That’s why the USPA’s tagline is “Experience the Difference.” Thank you for understanding. We have some exciting announcements in the very near future and are looking forward to 2019 being our best year yet!
