I can't find any reviews online about these particular Ocean Pacific fragrances. It's not even on Fragrantica but fuk it, I'm buying the coffret of these 3:

You were the one who got my attention to this frag bro. Along with the other boyos who compared it to SDV and recommended it. Well played.
Today it's rainy. Did 3 sprays of spicebomb for casual Saturdays and my worker asked if I wanted to kill her. Lol dat beast performance tho▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Tell that sl00t to respect the goatness that is spicebomb.
Spicebomb vs Spicebomb Extreme
Spicebomb: Reviewing my full bottle off a strip of paper for comparison's sake. This seriously is like my favorite scent of all time. There's no hint of musk really. It's just a strong cinnamon/amber note with a light floral note that shows out on the top note and then peaks back in from time to time as it dries down. Can wear summer, winter, beach side or in the office. I don't think I'll ever fully abandon this scent.
Spicebomb Extreme: I'm confused, it's called Extreme but it projects less than the original. I have coffee beans here to clear out my scent palate a bit but this is very interesting. You have to get in closer to smell it, but what you do smell is quite nice, it's just lighter. Okay after spending some time smelling both, the OG dries down with a spicy/floral base, and the extreme dries down to simply a spicy/spicy base. I would say it's a cheaper L'Air du Desert Morocain. Its weaker projection works in its favor in this case. I said Desert Morocain was a "room fragrance" because it was too stronk for personal use. SBE won't be nearly as offensive so it's very wearable but it doesn't have half the versatility of the OG. Strictly fall/winter frag in my opinion. It's kind of like the difference between CH Men and Men Privé. Definitely see this being a full bottle buy in October very cozy and pleasant.
CH Men Privé vs Layton vs Layton Exclusif
CH Men Privé: Top note smells like a freshly poured high end whiskey. Malt note stays and develops with more Cinnamon. While not high end niche, it doesn't choke you out with overly synthetic notes.
Layton:Smelled this already but got another decant for direct comparison. Elegant perfumey opening, develops into that sweet/boozy top note that reminded me of Men Privé. As others of said, you just can not stop smelling this stuff. Where Men Privé is mostly malt/spicy. This is a more amber/malt. It doesn't transform into something unexpected either. It's just holding that same killer date night amber/malt characteristic. It really is a Great Scent. You can definitely smell the difference between the two, but if you don't have Layton money. CH Men Privé is VERY close in execution.
Layton Exclusif: EHHHHHHHHH not remotely like Layton at all. It smells like your living room when you set up freshly cut Christmas tree. VERY pine-y. It's definitely not a cheap "Pinesol" smell, it is PDM after all but it's just pine and more pine with a hint of mint? As a newb fragrance addict looking to have a frag for every occasion, I would spray my snowboarding jacket with this before hitting the slopes lulz. Okay after 5 or so minutes now it's Pine with cinnamon, this is way more appealing than the top note but it's still very outdoorsy. If we have any cologne crew that enjoys hiking/camping this is your frag. Develops into a really intriguing Pine/Cinnamon blend that I like. Okay yeah, this frag did a complete 360. First 5 minutes 100% pine. After 10 minutes 70% pine/30% cinnamon. After 15 minutes 60% maltyspice 40% pine. That was a pretty trippy experience. I wouldn't buy this personally but it's def not a nasty frag.
****Random****
Commes Des Garcons - Gosha Rubchinskiy: GR is a Russian fashion designer that made a few pieces I liked so I felt compelled to try. Let's put it this way. It's not as disappointing as Elevator Music because at least it smells like SOMEthing. It just so happens to smell like cheap dime a dozen chit you can pick up in a bin at Walmart for $14.99. Smells like rubbing alcohol, pine leaves, with some poverty musk thrown in. GR grew up in Russia during the transition from USSR to the Russian Federation today. His clothes reflected this sort of dark/rough time. This scent captures the poverty and shame well. So 10/10 in that regard.
Blind Buy: Shout out to Dizzin9 for the links/tipoff to the sale on this frag. It's my first of the house. Including a pic because I bought a 100ml "tester". The brand new in box 100ml was selling for $105, the tester was selling for $41. Went with the tester fully expecting about a quarter of the bottle to be gone, but to my surprise it looks like it's missing 4 or 6ml at most. This will be steal of the year if this smells even halfway decent, so can confirm buying a tester bottle from fragrancenet is legit.
Elie Saab - Essence#6 Vetiver: Interdasting, a barbershop-ey/piney vibe initially but then the pine note quickly becomes more aquatic in nature. This is not; an office scent, a beach scent, a date scent, or anything of the like. This is a "ah fuk it's Saturday and I have a ton of errands I need to run today" scent and you want to smell clean. I'd think of this as an extension of a body wash. Like taking the fresh shower smell with you on the go. I can live with that. I wouldn't gift this to anyone or spam someone itt to run out and buy it, but snagging 100ml of this for $40 was a good acquisition to my collection. This will be my defecto "3 quick sprays before hitting the gym" frag.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

Sup boyos, been a while! Still catching up on 3+months of the thread, but I had to stop here and comment on the following post. Managed to bite my tongue on all the previous ridiculous fragbro-science stuff re shaking bottles etc, but this is too much.
papillo already schooled you on this BS tomfoolery 'electromagnetic field' theory. Why are you still going on about it? Once again, from the founder of Byredo:
"And the packaging is part of it – I think a Byredo bottle must be one of the most Instagrammable things imaginable…
It took a while. It has been almost 10 years since I started now and there have been continuous updates to the graphic identity, the packaging, the detailing… In the end it was very subjective. A lot of focus was placed on what was inside the bottle, so I wanted the packaging to be almost generic, but of a very high quality. Simple and clear. And the magnetic caps are a result of the gadgety part of me. It was a technique that one of our suppliers had and I just wanted it. So it’s all about detailing, and taking time to perfect something."

FYI for future reference - unless specified, testers from fragrancenet and other legit sites (notino, fragrancex, etc) should all be 100% full and never sprayed. Sometimes they are missing the cap, but otherwise it's the same exact juice as a retail bottle. Great way to save money if you can do without the box and occasionally the cap.
Finally caught up with the thread. Good to see a few of the OG's back in here as well as some solid newer posters!

It's very light, maybe that's why it doesn't much love, but it has its moments for me. Reminds me of early mornings in Negril- crisp clean citrusy airy vibes. It just puts me in a chill, no worry moodLast edited by CandyMane; 04-08-2018 at 06:45 AM.
