I haven't done a high rep set in the while. I've been feeling pretty good so I figured why not see how 500 moves. I managed 8 reps before my grip gave out. Next time I'll pull mixed grip and go for 10. I'm starting a new training cycle and the goal is to pull in the 600's at 200 pound bodyweight.
Go to my channel at Dominic DNO to see the lift. I don't have enough posts to link the video yet.

Pulls looked pretty solid. Since you are using straps you should not have to go mixed grip - may just need to wrap them more tightly or crank them around the bar a couple of times. You could also get some chalk and chalk up the wraps at home (this will help, even if the gym does not allow chalk).

Thanks for the information! Next time I post I'll go to the videos sub section. I've been meaning to purchase chalk. Any suggestions for which product to get or where to purchase?

also just wanted to point out that your grip should not be giving out when using straps. No chalk should be required, u just gotta make sure u have used them the correct way.
check out 5.54 of this vid as you may not be wrapping right! Good lifting by the way!!

If you only need a little bit of chalk then I would go to REI if you have one that is local. If not you can typically find gym chalk at Dicks Sporting Goods, or could always just order off Amazon. There won't be much difference between brands - but I would stay away from the 'liquid chalk' if you want to use it to chalk straps.
Also, as other suggested it could be that you are not getting the straps cranked down properly. Might want to watch a couple of videos on wrapping straps to get some tips.
Keep up the good work - 3X bodyweight is a huge achievement and it looks like you are getting close.Pro Strongman & Former National Champion

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to work on wrapping and get some chalk. I don't know when I'll hit another high rep set. I'd like to pull 600 in 6 weeks so it'll probably be a while.
