Flat bench: Rogue vs others (elitefts, rep, etc)

I'm looking to get a flat bench and came across some divergent opinions.

    1) rogue flat utility bench: pretty expensive with shipping, length and height are not IPF spec

    2) elitefts bench: correct dimensions, possibly same quality as rogue

    3) rep benh: correct dimensions, probably lower quality, but cheaper

    Any thoughts on elitefts benches?

Having used both rogue and elitefts.. I have to give it to elitefts.

The rogue flat bench is great, don't get me wrong, but something just feels off about it. Feels cheap.

elitefts on the other hand is rock solid. Get the grip pad option. Their shipping isn't as as cheap as Rogue might be able to do but the quality is 10x better. My kids will be able to use this bench a decade from now.

    Thanks.
    Which model do you have?
I was looking at this one and it doesn't seem that there is a grip pad option?

Edit: nvm. Just called and confirmed that they can get that on any of the benches.
    Shipping is the only deterrent.

If going elitefts I'd go with the scholastic and get the 12" pad vs the 11" for $10 more.

It seems that there are no such options to configure, at least on the website.

The scholastic comes with a 12" pad. There is nothing to configure.

But 20lbs less? If the tube is the same, how is that possible?
1-2 weeks shipping rather than 4-6. Odd.

I seriously doubt a 2x2 11g bench weighs 70# unless there some lead in the tubes. My 3x3 with fatpad is right at 80#.

I called and confirmed with Elitefts that the benches are same size.
    They're all 70lbs.
    They're all 17.5" tall, 11.5" wide.

Grip pad is an option for all.

Goddamn, including shipping, this thing is going to cost $244.10
It does seem like a really great bench with perfect dimensions for my preferences, but I'm not sure if it's worth 2x the price of the Titan bench.

I have an extra pad. Let me weight it. Standby.

    Update 1

    Doing the weigh myself-(myweight+thepad)=
    ~13.6lbs.

Let me do the whole bench lol.

    Update 2

    I got ~65.4lbs

This is all on a cheapo bathroom scale.

Elite Scholastic with gripper pad. I got the bolt together since at the time it was a sale and shipping was free. The one piece shipping costs was like $70+ dollars.

The Scholastic was like $179 shipped with the frame color and pad of your choice.

And yes the gripper pad is worth it. You can really "lock in" your bench position.

My only mods I plan to do is add wheels and a handle.

    Similar to this:

Do you think it's worth $90 more than a Rogue flat? (I can get a used rogue flat for $150)
I got mine for $179 shipped. So in my case when comparing to the cost of a new Rogue Flat bench shipped (apples to apples)...Yes, I still feel I made the right choice.

    Wow. Free shipping.
I'm also in Cali, but the shipping for the bolt-together now costs $70, making this bench basically unaffordable for me.
The one-piece version shipping via freight was around $100+.

So I'm picking up a used Rogue flat for $150 instead.

Let me do the whole bench lol.

    Update 2

    I got ~65.4lbs

This is all on a cheapo bathroom scale.
LOL repped for the effort. Is that the bench they had such a time getting right for you?

I suspect there is some rounding up, and lumping the bolt together/welded in the same higher weight. Personally I prefer a lighter bench or at least some wheels, getting old and lazy I guess.

It was. Such a pain in the a. Wrong hardware, bench pad holes drilled wrong...

They claimed they just switched to a new 3rd party manufacturer of the item and the mfg wasn't getting specs right.

I agree. That Barbells4me flat bench is ideally perfect.

It really is, Getrxd still sells the same bench for $150. Although I suspect theirs might be a little higher quality than the Atlas one I owned based on the weight. Would have kept it but the AB-3100 really doesn't leave much to be desired. The flat benches considered here would be automatically disqualified in my book, no way I'm messing with a 70-90lb bench with no handle/wheels. Ain't nobody got time for that.... LOL

    That's a nice bench.
I just spec'd out what it would cost to ship to my house and it'd be $200.
I guess I'll keep my Rogue flat for now, since I got it for $150 (used).

Slamball appears to be an exact match @ 42lbs, the Atlas bench felt almost laughably light when moving around, but yet still incredibly solid no matter what I put on it. The Valor appears to have dropped significantly in price, when I bought the Atlas I looked at Valor but it was closer to $200+ at the time. I'm sure the Rogue and Legend benches are high quality, but why couldn't they add mobility features for a few pennies?

How grippy is the atlas bench?

Edit: nvm. It seems that the material isn't very grippy according to the review I found on YouTube.

Agree on this. Rogue inclines have wheels and handle. Their 3x3 Monster has nothing and totally unnecessary giant rubber feet. This was a big reason why I jumped when Mech was offering to build a FatPad bench.

Wait a bit. You got the Rogue bench for a good price. Don't let buyers remorse or second guessing set in. For what you paid, you can easily sell it without a loss, especially in SoCal.

Use it, figure out what you like/dislike and in a few months during the Black Friday sales, score a new bench.

I have the wheels to add to my monster bench but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I just cary it around like a bonus assistance lift.
