I'm looking to get a flat bench and came across some divergent opinions.
1) rogue flat utility bench: pretty expensive with shipping, length and height are not IPF spec
2) elitefts bench: correct dimensions, possibly same quality as rogue
3) rep benh: correct dimensions, probably lower quality, but cheaper
Any thoughts on elitefts benches?

Flat bench: Rogue vs others (elitefts, rep, etc)

Having used both rogue and elitefts.. I have to give it to elitefts.
The rogue flat bench is great, don't get me wrong, but something just feels off about it. Feels cheap.
elitefts on the other hand is rock solid. Get the grip pad option. Their shipping isn't as as cheap as Rogue might be able to do but the quality is 10x better. My kids will be able to use this bench a decade from now.-The Ohio State University Crew-

Thanks.
Which model do you have?
I was looking at this one and it doesn't seem that there is a grip pad option?

Edit: nvm. Just called and confirmed that they can get that on any of the benches.
Shipping is the only deterrent.Last edited by pbk3jg0; 08-24-2017 at 08:27 AM.

But 20lbs less? If the tube is the same, how is that possible?
1-2 weeks shipping rather than 4-6. Odd.

Elite Scholastic with gripper pad. I got the bolt together since at the time it was a sale and shipping was free. The one piece shipping costs was like $70+ dollars.
The Scholastic was like $179 shipped with the frame color and pad of your choice.
And yes the gripper pad is worth it. You can really "lock in" your bench position.
My only mods I plan to do is add wheels and a handle.

Do you think it's worth $90 more than a Rogue flat? (I can get a used rogue flat for $150)Last edited by Ramcharger310; 08-25-2017 at 05:50 PM.

LOL repped for the effort. Is that the bench they had such a time getting right for you?
I suspect there is some rounding up, and lumping the bolt together/welded in the same higher weight. Personally I prefer a lighter bench or at least some wheels, getting old and lazy I guess.SQ 475# 5/26/17 wraps

It was. Such a pain in the a. Wrong hardware, bench pad holes drilled wrong...
They claimed they just switched to a new 3rd party manufacturer of the item and the mfg wasn't getting specs right.

It really is, Getrxd still sells the same bench for $150. Although I suspect theirs might be a little higher quality than the Atlas one I owned based on the weight. Would have kept it but the AB-3100 really doesn't leave much to be desired. The flat benches considered here would be automatically disqualified in my book, no way I'm messing with a 70-90lb bench with no handle/wheels. Ain't nobody got time for that.... LOL

Slamball appears to be an exact match @ 42lbs, the Atlas bench felt almost laughably light when moving around, but yet still incredibly solid no matter what I put on it. The Valor appears to have dropped significantly in price, when I bought the Atlas I looked at Valor but it was closer to $200+ at the time. I'm sure the Rogue and Legend benches are high quality, but why couldn't they add mobility features for a few pennies?

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

Wait a bit. You got the Rogue bench for a good price. Don't let buyers remorse or second guessing set in. For what you paid, you can easily sell it without a loss, especially in SoCal.
Use it, figure out what you like/dislike and in a few months during the Black Friday sales, score a new bench."I love the smell of stall mats in the morning."
