Kabuki Strength Power and Squat Bars

Emailed for an ETA on the power bar (ordered at midnight black friday). Was told they "expect to ship it next week." I'm in no big rush, but did they have any bars ready to ship, for this, their biggest sale in history?

I'm curious as well...I very much like the feel of my Duff knurl.

That is why I ordered the Squat Bar. The knurling on the duffalo is way better than the bulldog and TSBs that I have used, so I am hoping the same is true for the squat bar from them.

Kabuki? When it happens year after year, I don't give them a pass. Last year, it took me 5 weeks after my cc was charged to receive a bar with zero communication until I complained.

It's just not a well-run business...plain and simple.

Not a well run business is an understatement. It appears that they run a sale and then start to build to order. At any rate, I just don't like how he does things. His products are good, but his business practices are lame.

i might just be spoiled tho. i've never done it. my buffalo bar was 30 bucks and it is the 650+ ironmind one . was free after flipping tho

Yeah, I had been planning to get a bulldog bar originally (and was hoping for that diameter on the kabuki tbh), but the knurling on the duffalo is 100x better than the Capp's bars and the specs are just like the TSBs that are used in competition.

Hopefully, I won't be disappointed.

Dude...what does that have to do with anything that we are talking about? I know you have to get in your requisite "I got X item for $10 " posts, but come on, that was the weakest segue ever.

The TSB has good knurl imo and is a great squat bar that has stood the test of time, but it still starts to get some whip around 300kg. I also wish the TSB (all texas bars for that matter) had some sort of coating on the sleeves because taking a wire brush to the bare steel every week gets old pretty quick. The texas bars havent really changed for well over a decade or more while all these new bars have come out and I feel like their share of the market is starting to reduce as a result.

I was kinda hoping the KS squat bar would be 35mm diameter and SS because squatting with a SportKraft squat bar is so nice with that extra thickness and stainless steel would be prime just because its low maintenance. I think Duffin said that they played around with stainless initially but just couldnt get it to work how they wanted it to and then said that given the tensile strength 35mm shaft wasnt warranted and would just add needless cost which is fair enough. They also offer several different coatings which while not as good as stainless, is still better than no coating at all (wish the electroless nickel wasnt an upcharge though).

Because it didnt have the features I really wanted, I didnt pick one up during the black friday/presale. To say im not interested in picking one up down the track if reviews and up close pictures/finishes are favourable, would be wrong though. Still be a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a sportkraft bar from finland.

The TSB isn't awful knurl, but it is more razor blade than sandpaper, and I prefer sandpaper knurl (grippier, less bleeding). I too was hoping for 35mm, but Duffin assured me that their bar would have similar whip to a 35mm while still being "comp spec." We shall see.

I would say the TSB starts to whip before the 300Kg barrier, more like 225-250Kg, not bad, but it's there.

I was not aware it's been repetitive. Sounds like he continues to run it like a basic fabricator. Build to order that takes many weeks to months if not pushed and lack of communication. At least that's been my experience with most fabricators. Hope they change if they want to keep expanding.

I just got a shipping notification today for the boomstick i ordered on cyber monday. Took a little while but it'll be worth it once it arrives.

at this rate, im going to be very surprised if you get your bar before christmas.
I get they are a smaller business compared to rogue/elitefts but surely when you are having as big of a black friday/cyber monday sale as they did, you would make sure you have enough stuff in stock ready to ship? I was surprised they had the new bars as part of this sale given the pre-ordered ones havent even gone out to customers yet...

Looks like all Kabuki bars will come at the same time as my rack for which the lead time was 4 to 6 weeks.

This is stupid, I ordered their bar instead of the SS vulcan bar in part due to the vulcan bar not being release until January. Looks like I may not get the kabuki bar until january neither.

I had msg'd kabuki on instagram Nov 24th and said

"How long will sale last and are power bars ready to ship. Fighting between 3 bars"

Their reply was
"Power bars are ready to ship (at the moment). Some people might have to wait for the next batch which comes in a few days or so. Sale lasts until Monday"

To me, that response implies the bars are being shipped out immediately or at the very least in a few days.

If the bar is gonna be a delay, if you're not going to build the bars until you have all our money....FINE, thats cool but just inform us. I bought something from Legend and they tell you it's built after you order...9-10 weeks wait. Kabuki straight up lied about the availability of their bars

Certainly does not make me want to run out and do business with them regardless of how good their products are. I don't mind delays but can't stand delays with crappy communication

Yeah, I kind of agree on this. Some of the appeal of this bar was the "IN STOCK" status. Really not sure I would've ordered had it said.. "ready for shipment some time in December or January." I'm still pretty stoked about the power bar, but man, I'm not sure I'll be doing any more business with Kabuki.
