The many "normal" diets notwithstanding. Any one of them when done properly. The varieties are based on your physiology, attitude, mental discipline, schedule, etc.

cause it's super hard to overeat protein and fat. I can eat like 500g of carbs in one sitting and still be hungry. 500g protons? or 222g of fat? no chance

The body doesn't need to ingest carbs. But when fuel is necessary it goes to fat stores before breaking down muscle.

I perform very very very bad without carbs, feel like a corpse on any keto type of thing.
Don't see why you say "I chose poorly" because the system you choose does not work for me. I do not see the point why I would need it either, I am very lean and stay lean on a high carb low fat macro breakdown.

Because you're not doing it right. Or you didn't do enough research and have unrealistic expectations? In any event, your body needs time to adapt.

Just nevermind, I can see you are unwilling to consider the possibility that some people just preform very bad on such a macro breakdown.

Just because I have no need for something does not mean I am not interested in experiencing it. As many people (such as yourself) claim it is so amazing for them (I assume people with poor appetite control on a cut with higher carb intake, I do not have this problem myself) I was willing to give it a go to see what it was like.

The only problem with that over-simplification is that muscle is energy too.

This chit will always blow my mind.

Option a) Eat whatever you want in a calorie deficit, get lean.

Option b) Cut out carbs, get lean.

    Such a hard choice.

    Step 1) Caloric Defecit
Step 2) Ingest enough protein to decrease muscle loss
    Step 3) Be consistant

That is literally it. Keto is no more or less effective than any other method. Get the 3 steps in place and then do whatever you find easiest to stick too.

People always say this but you have to remember that you're body isn't dumb, it's not just going to burn all your muscle first. Sure you'll lose some lean mass but not as much as most people think

Whichever diet you can stick to, as long as you are in a deficit, is the better one. Keep ur intensity high and you won't lose any significant muscle on a cut. You will lose water and thus look a bit smaller temporarily, on any diet.

That is literally it. Keto is no more or less effective than any other method. Get the 3 steps in place and then do whatever you find easiest to stick too.
Yeah cos its not like hormones, leptin, insulin and all other sorts of complicated metobolic processes matter.

ITS ALL JUST ABOUT DA CALORIES

I cant believe that with all the information available to people these days that we still have people acting like its 1995

To paraphrase Tim ferriss, keto is super cool and effective but if you fuk up, even with something as innocuous as too much protein, it's the worst possible diet.

    Focus on calories
    311 bench / 431 squat / 569 dl

Use kg bumpers and lb plates for weird total crew

Have you actually read any scientific literature surrouding controlled caloric intake? Across every single demographic, when calories are controlled so that the participants stick to an appropriate caloric defecit, the participants lose weight and improve body composition.

In fact, its possible to gain muscle on a cut. One of the things I've learned from my present diet.
You will lose water and thus look a bit smaller temporarily, on any diet.
Well, you'll be smaller, but you'll also look more muscular and defined -- so that's really not a bad thing. Too bad most guy don't get this, and are deathly afraid of losing any of their bulk.

Eat 1000 calories of Krispy Kreme and nothing but 800 calories of Whey for 12 weeks and tell me how your cut goes.

Its utterly retarded to pigeon hole nutrition into simple calories in/out.

Vitamins, minerals, biotics, fibre, fat, protein, carbs - they all play a massive role in things like hormone production, gut health, insulin production, glucose uptake, you name it. Even simple things like meal timing and the type of exercise you do has a radical effect on results and the QUALITY of results. A piece of chit 1992 Toyota is probably going to get you to the finish line too, its just going to be lapped a couple of times by the bro in the new BMW.

If none of this mattered, you would not have people injecting growth hormone, insulin and test in their asses or eating certain types of calories like they do.

    I basically did this once.

The cut went well. I was taking a multi vitamin as well though.

Yes, its much more complicated than simply calories in, calories out. It also absorption, storage and utilization which is controlled by hormones.
