I don't know OP's story - but there are some really impressive home gyms on this forum that cost very little out of pocket cash. Most of us make money flipping items on craigslist/ebay to fund other purchases. And most of us find great deals on used equipment that we keep for ourselves.

I am not rich and not near from being rich! I have worked hard for a lot of years and decided to spend my money there. Nothing comes from doing nothing. Yes I have spent a lot more money than i should in this hobby/passion, but in the end, i am happy i did. I don’t think that without this home gym, i would still be lifting weights, with family, work, house to take care of, i would not have time to drive over to the gym, workout and come back home 4-6 times a week.

Wow. Don't know how I missed this thread before. That is an amazing home gym with a ton of one-off pieces. That Mech6 FT is beautiful. You've got excellent taste, and I love the way you've laid everything out. Seeing the different stages of the gym is incredibly satisfying for me. I feel like I can sort of live vicariously through learning about other people's builds.

Thanks! I created this thread to help people build their own gym and share my mistakes and my good decisions. It is also for me a reminder of all the evolutions of my gym a little like a photo story. If i could go back i would have taken more pictures of the rooms while i finish them and also more pictures of the evolution in my equipment. What you see here is the evolution once or twice a year when i had the time to take pictures. Mech6 equipments are the best i have and they will stay forever. For the rest, always room for evolution...

The roc it leg press and mid row are my two favorite hoist machines. They both have great range of motion and with the little movement of the machine at lenghten position helps feeling the muscles they are suppose to work.
I have to repeat that hoist machines are really good. The chest press and standing calf are good machines too. All hoist machines take a little time to get used to the movement but after 4-5 workouts, they are really something special![]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #54 []---[]

Second update for 2018, i guess my gym project is coming near to an end .
New Prime fitness goodies arrived home this week. New split squat wedges set, 10deg, 20deg, 30deg. Also landmine, long and short bar for ROT-8 handles attachments and the spreader bar. I already owned the Rot-8 handles from a previous order. The order arrived better wrapped than anything i have bought from any company before... I litteraly love all Prime stuff, i would love to have some room for some of their machines but having these small attachments or tools include them in my home gym stuff! Great pieces by the way.

Those wedges are awesome! I just recently added heel lifted ssb squats for some additional volume on my squat day. I’ve just been using a 2x6 piece of wood. The depth and the quad activation are insane with the lifted heel. I think a set of these are now on my short list!

I was waiting for the split squat wedges to be released for the last two months when they first announced them. I have to admit that the 30 degree is pretty steep and i will have to workout with them for a few weeks to get used to this kind of degree of incline. They are really well made and could not been happier with these. It completely changes the squats mechanics to fit to every body types.

After a long time without any gym evolution...
Over the past few weeks, i have sold a few of the machines i was not using/loving as much as the rest. It was sad to see these go
With the covid, the selling market is really good as people want to build their own gyms. The downside of that is that the buying market is rough, items are selling for much more than they use too and they go fast. Now here are the pieces that i have sold:
Hoist Roc it leg press RPL-5403, Hoist pec fly/ rear delt and Powerbody combo lying leg curl/ seated leg extension
Hoist Roc it hack squat/deadlift RPL-5356
Bodycraft F660 leg press/ hack squat combo

a used Atlantis Pivot Press c-201 that was in perfect shape
a used Atlantis lying leg curl pe-106 that i had to replace the upholstery
And a brand new Atlantis tibia raise machine

Alex, I always enjoy pics of your set up. Atlantis produce some great equipment and that Pivot Press is exceptionally good.
I'm also in the process of swapping out some of my equipment, 3 Hammer Strength machines, I just placed an order with Panatta, the used market is so buoyant and equipment manufacturers are currently offering some great deals on new commercial machines. In my case I was able to upgrade in quality and to brand new units, for an exceptionally small amount of money.
