OK. I know this is hard for people to talk about sometimes, so I hope some of you won't mind.
Constipation is a huge part of my life right now, and I can not find a solituion to be regular. I will go Mon-Thursday sometimes with no movement. On weekends, I have to take 4-5 laxatives to get things moving. Sometimes I get lucky, and sometimes I don't.
I drink 1-2 gallons of water a day, eat steamed veggies, brown rice, steak/chicken, fruit is usually apples or green bananas, fats are PB. I also have some casein, and whey for pre and post workouts. I also love black coffee/plain, but with nothing in it.
I was taking an iron supplement weeks ago and I read it was a huge factor for constipation. I stopped taking in about 2 weeks ago, things may have gotten a little better, but nothing to brag about. Last weekend I included a women's GNC multivitamin in my diet, and it has 18mg iron/iodine in it. The supplement I stopped using before was 65mg, so I can't imagine a multi vitamin contributing.
I have tried the smooth move tea, herbal remidies, ect and I need some help.
Can you all share with me some of your experiences and what you did to get relief from this? I am miserable during the week.
They recommended the brown bomb, lol
Prune juice, miralax, and milk of magnesia.
I did that last night, with a small amount of relief this morning.
I took some more this morning and hope to get some relief later today.
The laxative I was referring to above was the sennosides, and I took 3-4 of those.
I was told that iron will for surely constipate you. I was taking it because I was low. I was around 37ish, and they wanted it higher. I plan to stop taking that, and see how next week goes for me.
If anyone has experienced this in here, and have some sure fire remedies, please share them
