Been playing battle royale but I don't really get it. After every round I get XP but what's the point? Am I supposed to be progressing toward something or do you legit have to pay?

Also there's only 1 class in battle royale? Game is weird.

Yes all the items are in the game. The xp gives you that stars that help you progress up tiers which just gives you cosmetics and chit.

There is no in-game ranking system. Just watch the top twitchers play, you basically just play for wins

You play to win, and be the last man standing. There is a progression system that gives you cosmetics and emblems, but that's it, outside of getting better to stomp peeps.

Does have a progressive story mode if that's your thing but I've never played.

Regardless it's a free game to play and if you enjoy the multiplayer aspect of it then get the whole game.

You'd have to enjoy adrenaline rushes, as this game, especially in solos, has it in spades.

I was in the cemetery and i knew someone else was there but i didnt know where. He was hiding in one of the smaller buldings n missed me completely when i ran in w a shotgun. Not gonna lie the shotgun blast made me jump n my heart race. Even my wife was laughing at me

Finally downloaded Fortnite this weekend...the first day I was like no thanks Geoff, only *******s play this game, might as well go buy PUBG.
Saturday I played a few more games, understood the mechanics more, objectives, strategy, still sucked.
Played a lot yesterday and was actually starting to get some kills in team mode, I suck at solo.

But I think I am hooked, gonna go home and play it before I have to pick up my wife from the airport.

Question:

How do I unlock cool outfits?
I am stuck using the retards that I start off with?
Do I have to spend money or is there some sort of in game earnings from playing that I unlock stuff?

downloaded it, played it, its kinda neat so play something trying to be sneaky. I've had the best success so far landed in a less populated area and then running towards the circle when it spawns. If not I end up in an area saturated with players and its a short time til I die. I am a noob tho, but decent at shooters. Need to learn how to build during fights to protect and to get advantage over people.

Loving this game now that I have a full squad I can play with, got some decent W's this weekend.

Squad v Squad final showdowns really get the blood pumping lol, **** being built everywhere, bullets, rockets, grenades flying around, everyone in the chat calling stuff out.

You have to spend money to get any skins, as far as I know. That said, if you have amazon prime, you get twitch prime for free, and you can then get twitch prime skins for fortnite by linking your twitch to your epic account.

Guess Ill try and sign up with twitch prime since I have an account.

The Prime Skin is actually incredible, I bought 2 skins and had season 2 and 3 battle pass, and typically rock that one mainly (until I reach battlepass 70 for the blacked out astronaut. 63 now. soon.jpg)

You can grind f2p v-coins, but it's like 200 per season, so it'd take a year to afford a battlepass and get those skins if you only play BR and not StW.

i.e. f2ping for skins is so tedious that the game encourages you to buy a BP at least.

I feel 10 dollars for the battlepass isn't terrible though for all that it gives. Considering it's a free game, this game has brought me much more enjoyment than games i've paid 60 dollars for.

Also with that battlepass, you earn 100 coins I want to say, so 400 coins back if you max out. Combined with 3/4 dances, 5(?) skins ect... I enjoy the battlepass.

Battlepass is well worth it in the long run..

You get 900+ v bucks anyway so if you don't spend anything then technically next season pass will also be free. That's considering you complete the 100 battle passes. + the dances, outfits and trail smokes etc. Worth the moneyz

Definitely worth it. Skins are good, one pass basically gets you the next one for free and extra, so you get your money back and then some. I got last season's in the last week because I'd only need 100 v-coins this season to get another. Already 800 deep for next season's pass too.

I played the new Blitz mode in squads today... By far my favorite mode. Wish stats didn't count so I could screw around though.

NGL, I only found out stats counted after a few games of mesing around, lmao. I don't mind since I normally use squads to warm up and mess about anyway.
