    Smile What Supplements?

    Hello,

Can anyone help me on what supplements to take, I have around 120-150g of protein a day and currently have pre workout and protein shake, are there any more supplements I should take in order to help build muscle/help muscle recovery- train 6 times a week.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello,

    I'm 17, 5ft 11 and around 65kg.
I haven't really looked at my weight change but as far as I can tell I'm staying just around the same weight I am at the moment.
I just train each body part twice a week with one day doing a heavy/Intense workout then the other workout not being as intense.

    Thanks

Unfortunately we can't reccomend you supps at your age: Supps and If you're under 18

Focus on your nutrition; eat sensibly. And focus on your training. Look at one of the proven routines in the exercise session.

I eat chicken, fish, oats and eggs mainly but I do snack often during the day but only fruit etc, not as much protein intake as I could but as I don't buy that much food(my parents do) and they don't want to spend to much on food so i was wondering if i could buy supplements in order to make up for the lack of protein intake or if their are any other high protein foods I could take.

    Thanks

More food. You are extremely thin and at 16-17 year old should still be growing and filling out, and are primed for muscle gain over the next several years if you do things right.

    Go to the Workout Programs
    section.

Read the stickies and look around at reputable novice routines such as Fierce 5, Starting Strength, All Pros, Greyskulls LP etc. Pick one and follow it.

Check Nutrition Forum stickies. Track calories and carbs/fat/protein daily, as well as bodyweight. (www.myfitnesspal.com is popular for this). Eat to gain weight. Hit the protein and fat needs as discussed in the nutrition forum and get enough total calories that you gain let's say 0.5 kg of bodyweight per week on average.

You can NOT use supplements to cover up an insufficient diet. Nobody can. To get bigger and stronger and build muscle you simply need to eat in a caloric surplus, you need more food. There are a lot of calorie dense foods out there, though, that aren't too expensive. Have some milk/chocolate milk/whole milk (do you guys drink that in the UK?) and peanut butter or PBJ sandwiches for example.

At 17 I recommend you don't take any supplements. Just focus on getting your nutrition and training dialed in as those are the 2 most important factors for any fitness related goal.

You shouldnt be taking any supplements at your age. Work on your diet and training and look into supplements in a few years.
Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!
