I have a 185 lb bench something like a 250 lb squat and a 315 lb deadlift and I'm 16 so I'm new to training. Can I train for strength in my favorite lifts while maintaining or even being in a calorie deficit? I'm thinking because I'm training my nervous system and not training for hypertrophy i shouldn't have any difficulty increasing my lifts especially because I'm new to it anyways. So my question is do I have to eat more and gain weight to increase my lifts or can I remain lean and the way I am now?

Being 16, keep it simple; eat big to get big (and strong). Unless you're legit overweight, no 16yr old should be in a caloric deficit. I don't even like the idea of a 16yr old counting calories. You're 16 dude. Enjoy life right now. Worry about tracking and over thinking stuff later on down the line.

You need to eat 4-6 healthy meals a day. Don't eat a bunch of **** food. You can eat and gain "healthy" weight without gorging on stuff that will cause health problems later in life. At 16 your body is still developing and growing. Don't worry about cutting, unless of course you're going to get ready for a bodybuilding contest
