Palestine absolutely has NOT been forgotten by the Arabs. They are incredibly bitter about it today (millennial aged guys). I had the opportunity to work with engineers from the region and had this exact discussion at an afghani or persian halal place. We ate like animals. They even fill up on bread like us (Naan). We did hookah for a good long time after we ate, chilling on a rug. Given that Israel attacked the US on 9/11, I don't see how anyone could claim Israel is an ally of the US. Quite the opposite seems to be true.
