Hey guys, i'm new here and i see lots of great feedback and so i decided to join and become a member.
So, I am 5,8 in height and weigh approx. 149 lbs, my cals should be approx 2,400 - 2,600 on a bulk (based on online calculations), however i am not getting those numbers in, i'm hitting more 2,000 cals. my metabolism is fairly steady. I have been bulking for 4 months now, I generally eat clean and have 1 - 2 cheat meals a week, i have my protein shake and creatine each day, i go to the gym 4x times a week.
My question, i am getting big faster then i initial thought, i have put on muscle and fat, based on the calculations above (2,400 - 2,600) should i really be getting those cals in incl. surplus when im getting some great gains?
is it my metabolism the calculations online that cant get right?
Your feedback would be much appreciated

Calculations are just an estimate, you have to find out what works better for you.
You probably had seen gains, because of those cheat meals. 2000 calories seems very low for bulking, even for maintaining weight. Try to eat more calories, but everything in moderation and hit all those macros with food you like, if you were eating 2000, try 2500 for start, and see how it goes.
If eating 2000 and overeating on other days is your way to go, do it.

Thank you, i will try it out, but i am already getting fat and putting muscle, i'm afraid if i hit 2,400 - 2,600 i will gain even more fat and look unhealthy. I think i have a slow metabolism hence why i am growing fast with the all cals i'm taking in at 2000, as previously mentioned, i'm building 4x times a week, no cardio and eat 4x a day. Could they be another reason why i'm growing fast? i mean, i'm not complaining, i just would like to have peace of mind.

Ok, so the last time i measured my self was last year and it was approx 149 lbs, eating normal, light cardio, and now after bulking for 4 months, i have decided today to buy a body weight scale, i am stoked - i am sitting at 167 lbs. Oh and this is after eating 3 meals so far, 2 more to go. I expect this to go down on a empty stomach esp in the mornings.
I think 2000 cals is enough for me and i have come to terms that my metabolism is slow. what y''all think? is it normal to gain weight this fast?Last edited by deepestblue; 06-30-2017 at 09:51 PM.

149lbs crew checking in
2k for me is maintenance, if I do like 30 mins uphill walk every day as cardio I need to up it to at least 2.3k to stay in the zone as I start dropping down like crazy. As for cut my kcals were around 1.8k.
I try to get around 100g of carbs (half of it is fiber), around 70+ fats, and everything else in proteins cause I love meat.I always tell the truth, even when I lie.

idk if thia Q was ment for me but wth
i start with 20-30 mins uphill walk to warm up (and to catch on my podcasts), i try to train every body part 3x a week, so im not killing myself every training but i focus more on volume (once i week i go heavy tho) and i finish it all up with some Ab wheel rolls (goat ab exercise imo)
as for diet i stick to IF (convenient for my workout and working schedule), 2 meals a day, one after training at 1pm and one at 8pm, on friday 8 pm i start 24 hrs fast and then i have meal on saturday 8pm after evening training.
thats about that, i try to keep it simple and its working for me.
my job is sedentary mostly so besides going to the gym i dont move as much as i would like during the working hoursI always tell the truth, even when I lie.
