I do hour long orange theory HIIT type workouts throughout the week as well as standard lifting at the gym. I understand that post workout is a critical time to replenish. I've always heard you need protein asap afterwards but now I'm seeing other supplements in post workout supplements. Specifically I'm looking at the jym products. His post product has no protein and says mix with water and drink within 30 min. He also sells his protein that he recommends taking after workouts. So would I just do both separately as instructed? Or could I mix it all together? In general I'm curious as the priority of what to do post as this question referenced jym, but I guess it doesn't matter the brand. Thanks!

there is no real need for a post workout meal if you are hitting or daily macros. That being said often grab a shake or have a small meal after lifting just due to my meal timing. Shakes are a very convenient and fast way to add calories if needed, but regular food will work as well.

You can really just eat a balanced whole food meal after your workout which is what I do. Make sure it contains a good amount of protein and carbs and you're good to go.
If I don't have time to get in a meal right after my workout I use Blue Star Post Factor. Contains 50g carbohydrates, 27g of hyrdolyzed whey protein isolate and LCLT and cherry pure to help combat muscle soreness. Flavors are amazing as well.Instagram - beyond__fitness__
