Bittrex and Gemini are both United States-based. Does that ensure they won't be shut down? Who knows. I don't see why they'd be shut down though. The government is getting paid through taxes on this stuff and if they can get these exchanges to submit user information to the IRS, it seems like something that would not need to be taken away.

It seems like most of the miscers use Bittrex as an exchange. Some altcoins aren't listed there though so you'd have to do some research on a particular altcoin to see where it's listed.

In terms of place to buy BTC. Coinbase is the easiest one. Gemini is infinitely better though. Only thing that Coinbase has going for it is there instant buy option.

I impulse bought 1 full coin the other day for like 3500ish, no regrets. In hindsight also wishing I had sold my eth into BTC instead of putting 3g of it into safex and BAT.

Thinking of going deep in I/O coin some positive things coming up for that coin later this month or in september.

After I finally learned to do a little research instead of jumping in blind I decided I don't like XEM due to the amount in circulation. I dumped mine.
