    interesting day

    3 unordinary things made me extra happy today: (my bf usually makes me happy everyday so its regular for me to be in a good mood in general)
    1. i tried benching today
    2. old gym acquaintance showed up and talked to me i thought he graduated and left
    3. front desk guy asked for my number. he's very friendly and yes he's cute, but i have no intentions anyway. i'm sure even if i gave him my number he probably won't text me just bc he seems that type of guy who likes to have the numbers and just do nothing. still good to know I'm attractive to an undergrad, right? so i told my bf afterwards and he's like he's a sketchy guy. i said well he didn't know. and he's like its still weird that he kept talking after you told him. I'm like he's just being friendly ok. my bf's like don't worry I'm not upset. I'm like but now you have an opinion on a stranger. he's like i just think its weird he'd do that. I'm like you called him sketchy. he's like so now you're mad? I'm like no, but you generate opinions very fast. he's like ok. so NOW IM MAD.

    what so if other guys ask for my number i just can't tell him so that he doesnt have wrong opinions on ppl? i thought he'd be proud of me for saying no instead of trying to attack the other guy. ugh. just ruined my day thanks a lot.

    K tmrw if i remember, and if I'm feeling strong, i'll go test out my 1rep max in deadlifts. but we might be snorkeling in catalina so I'm not sure if i can do that after yet. just gna write down the test plan here first:

    warm up
    some walking lunges, some hip thrusts, back stretches, raw bar rows
    - 30% 65lbs for 8reps
    - 40% 90lbs for 6reps
    - 50% 110lbs for 4reps

    also in case i don't get to be on the internets this weekend, and monday is early morning leg day, i'll test that 1rm too
    - 30% 55lbs for 8reps
    - 40% 75lbs for 6reps
    - 50% 90lbs for 4reps
    - 60% 110lbs for 2reps
    - 70% 130lbs for 1rep
    - 80% 150lbs for 1rep

    - 90-94% 165/170lbs 1 attempt

    Hope you have a great weekend. Woot for 1rm testing! And it's great when you get that 185. It's a nice feeling to be doing the 25's with the 45's. Just like it was when first getting those 45's or the two 45's on deadlift. You can do it!

    JUST HAD A FANTASTIC GREEK YOGURT BOWL with berries, coconut, granola, and almond slices. it was gigantic and delicious. the coffee oil in my americano was so thick it made my day and its only 10am.

    rest day

    I slept from 11pm-9:30am. had lotsa stressful dreams. i just need to go home and check my stuff really quick to have peace in mind.

    Today is rest day, my body has been sore at different areas on different days and getting better each day.
    Food: coffee w cream (ya idk whats wrong w me but i like to add in cream now), oikos+2 tbsp pb, lunch is turkey/tofustew/brownrice, dinner might be some salmon/tilapia/brown rice/veggies.

    1rm squats tested!

    Nice leg day, I felt strong hehe. tested my 1rep max. the slow warm up (30% x8, 40% x4, 50% x2, 60/70/80% x1, till 95-105% attempts) felt a bit ridiculous lol bc i was literally doing like 90 and 130 and 155 for 1 rep, took more time to load weights than actually squating.

    leg day
    - 1rm test, warm up, 185lbs x1rep easy, 195lbs x1rep fail, needed brief spotting. should've tested at 190 instead of 195. I supposed my 1rm is 190lbs then.
    - stiff legged 135lbs 4x6
    - single leg box squat holding 25lb plate 4x10
    - leg press 6plates 4x10
    - glute cable kick backs 8.8lbs 4x12 (later found out theres a standing kickback machine designed for this girly movement. will do that one next time instead of this cable one).
    - stretch
    - abductors 3x15 125-140lbs

    today i think a gym regular saw me in streets on campus and said hi. for a sec i thought he was from my department so i said HI with a big smile and then realized oh he's the one from gym that i've never really talked to. he just looks friendly and smiles all the time, very polite dude. guess tmrw if theres a chance i'll say hi and introduce myself.

    Food: oikos yogurt (i sincerely recommend this for preworkout meal), 2 scoop whey, 1 banana (postworkout), lunch could be CPK or my turkey/tofu stew/spinach/brown rice (brought it just in case my friend from gym cant make it for the leg day big lunch), dinner would be the same, LOL, i made too much again

    push day - started training chest again

    So it's been almost 3mo post op, and i decided to get back on training chest again. to slowly ease into benching, im doing some dumbbell bench presses to make sure my pecs are equally engaged.

    push day
    - dumbbell bench presses warm up x10 20lbs, working sets 4x6 22.5-27.5lb dbs (felt a lot of pressure and tightness)
    - OHP warm up 45lbs x6, working 55lbs 4x4/5
    - diagonal db raises to lateral raise 4x10 superset arnold press 20lbs 3x8
    - face pull 3x15 17.5-22.5kg
    - attempted kneeling push ups (so difficult, i used to be able to to like 20 full standard push ups)
    - machine chest press 10lb plates 3x10
    - tricep rope push downs 3x8 17.5kg
    - ab circuit x2

    Food: oikos, 2 scoops whey, lunch is yestday's tofu stew/brown rice/spinach, dinner might be tilapia (which i cooked on last monday LOL) and tortilla (that i bought a month ago....). last night i ate bunch of tamarido?? the mexican flavored fruity candies and takis, thanks to spending time w my dear roommate. we're looking for another roommate now and there was some interesting ppl who came to see the place last night.....

    I wonder how sore you'll be the day after your first push day! I get extra DOMs if I take a week off :'D
    Be sure to do some extra stretching! Did you feel like they got in the way at all? I'm naturally larger chested, the only thing I've ever thought is I have 2 fewer inches to go for full ROM in bench pressing.

    Hahaha yea, my pecs are pressing against the implants under them, and i can totally see them flexing individually, which you might not see so obviously with natural breasts..... It was so weird. I seriously don't know where this chest training is going. I probably won't ever be brave enough to bench 95lbs again just bc im terrified the implants would burst........ But then on the other side i almost feel like if i train slowly, the sisters will eventually get used to the pressure (which i'm not sure is applicable to silicone gels).

    For some reason though, when i go parallel on bench press at the bottom, the bar sits under my boobs/at the lower chest area, so my ROM is the same. They do get in the way when i do any close grip rows/pull downs tho, haha

    Very interesting. Never thought much about how the lifts were affected by implants since never considered getting any myself. Don't feel much when doing bench but I do get a bit of a quiver when I'm doing the dumbbell fly on the flat bench. Feel that every time.

    another good day - DL 1rm tested!

    Ya I would say implants are not ideal for lifting. But no regrets bc my boobs were abnormally small, not even an average A and they just make me look funny. I literally couldn't wear any type of bikinis before. It's alright. If i ever compete in powerlifting I'll probably rank bottom in the bench section.... That's fine with me.

    Today has been a really good day. last night tho there was hella drama. i'll tell this later.
    Pull day
    - 1rm testing- 30% 8reps 40% 6reps 50% 4reps 60% 2reps, 70-90% 1reps, attempt #1 @210lbs, #2 @215lbs, #3@225lbs all success!

    not that i'm a coward or i'm trying to avoid anything. i still am a fan of my other roommate, but i started disliking this one roommate way too much that i just don't want to have any conversations w her. we were just picking which future roommate to go with, there's a guy and a girl, and two other girls that haven't decided if they liked the place. anyway, last night, she was just talking some chit that's definitely both racist and sexist. she's choosing this one guy (which i don't like) over a girl (which is perfect and nothing's bad about her) ONLY BC HE'S A WHITE GUY. i'm just like. wth. she's like oh if i need any help from him i'm sure he can provide help but i'm not sure if we have a 3rd girl roommate, we might have cat fight and we might split things too clearly blah blah. i'm just like. girl. it's a good thing that we split things clearly. it sounds like all your life you just want to depend on other ppl's help, and you can only get it from guys bc ur a girl????? This just makes me ****ing pissed like i cannot believe someone like her is still making it through in this society. but again of course this society is made up w all kinds of ppl. and she happens to be one of those that i dislike the most. I don't even have a strong opinion on any of these roommate choices, it's just what she said is ****ing obliterate and the stupidest **** in this century. i hope she realize that herself one day, and it's really none of my business how she thinks. i'll just live through this next year with her bc my rent is super cheap right now and i'll leave the place without missing her at all.

    anyways, i need to renew my passport tmrw, today i'm getting my paper draft critiqued by my lab, and fitting another model for a side project. life is good. i'll miss my guy roommate. there's only 2 weeks left till he moves out. we'll probably do a hotpot night for him this or next weekend.

    lol she doesn't even lift, she lives in the era where she's still skipping dinners and then eats some high fat snacks bc she starving. plus she lives in a chinese world aka she doesn't get most of what americans are actually talking about. she makes the most offensive comments often and i think she gets away with it only bc her english is also broken so nobody takes her seriously. and she thinks she's the deal, knows a lot and cute af.

Most of them wouldn't do anything for anyone unless they think it will get them laid. They all think they're God's gift to womankind and that their d**ks are gold.

    But Chinese? Say no more. They are raised completely differently over there. They are unabashedly racist (one of the undergrads who worked for me was American born to Chinese immigrants, she said they don't even pretend not to be. Her parents freaked out that she had a black roommate her freshman year). They also adhere to more traditional gender roles pretty strictly. Even women who receive high educations are generally expected to bow out of the work force and raise families ASAP. I have several friends that came over from China for grad school and wanted to stay/adapt to the American lifestyle, but there's also those who are just there to build their breeding pedigrees....

    I know what you meant, and then i was gna say she probably won't even bother looking at the Misc. section here bc she's a white supremacist (she'll love them regardless)+ she doesn't use english forums at all (and so i started blabbing about her being chinese and totally forgot to make that point).

    But, ya. see. I'm originally from China too and it's been lotsa years that i've lived here. Probably my personality makes me never stick to my original culture (i have some serious and deep self hate issues but that's personal) and I kinda adapted to the values here (east coast/west coast, good or bad, i'm not sure, but i'm def more comfortable with these here). no offense taken from your comments at all tho, i totally agree w you upon those issues. my parents are probably super racist too just like my roommate. and it pisses me off and saddens my heart that these are the people closest to my origin and they behave like that. and that creates a general impression for ppl from my origin, including me, to other ppl.

    Oh yeah I guess I didn't meant to lump everyone together. I guess I mean I've met two types of Chinese immigrants: Those who adapt to American culture and those who don't. I don't actually think one is right or wrong (most of the non-adapters I knew returned to China after grad school or married into their own culture and keep themselves isolated). But even the a-hole American white supremacists for the most part are at least discrete about their discrimination IRL. It seems in China (and Japan), it's just accepted as the norm that Asian>>White>>Any Other Race. And since I'm making wide sweeping generalizations, there are a lot of Indian immigrants in my field too. They don't generally adapt American culture at all but aren't outright racist/supremacist either.

    I'm originally from the Midwest, spent 2 years East Coast, and now on my second year West Coast. There's definitely some extremes in culture and racism special to each of our areas, too. I am exposed to a lot of military guys in my field, and sadly their "locker room talk" is about as degrading as the Misc section here. I've basically lost my faith that men under 30 are actually tolerable humans.

    mm i see. and i agree. for california tho i feel that it's a lot less racist (i mean the americans here) but it's got counterbalanced by that there's more racist minorities here probably. and i spent 5years on the east coast too i personally experienced far more racism there by local ppl. hope humanity one day evolves out of this thing.

    Leg day - feeling weak bc guess who's visiting

    - single leg box squats holding 25lb plate 3x10
    - stiff legged 4x5 135lbs

    I need to get a new pair of under armour leggings for my squats. I've ripped 3 pairs of fabletics leggings on leg days. also for leg day i need to go back to leg presses and goblet squats. feeling weaker these days and can't get enough rest. all my dreams are stressful.

    both good days, trained benching a bit more, up'd weight to 70lbs. my shoulder strength continues to drop, so i'll do a deload next round, just for 3 days.

    i have a serious problem with waiting for people (especially when they don't make it on time). and also with people forgetting what i want to do bc they're so involved in their own world.

    dude ok find me guilty of eating 4 power crunch bars on a rest day its 820cal and then i ate normal lunch pasta/broc****/ground turkey and also had a good 2oz of gouda cheese. total probably 1500cal before dinner happens. and idk what dinner is. today is a day when im fixated on the cals again.

    1 power crunch down today, i shall stop right there

    deload cycle (kill me if i have to do a whole deload week)

    The old SC gym opened. weird. nice new racks in the main weight room but all dumbbells and small barbells are crammed into this one other small room like, how many people are you trying to fit into that one 100ft^2 area??? like 5 max?? cuz i was about to step onto someone's toes when i did goblet squats. the hell. my bf was complaining about no mirrors for the racks so he wasn't sure if he was hitting parallel at the bottom. i told him to just practice remembering where it should be instead of checking the mirror. anyway. i kinda prefer the new village gym over this one. but, since my bf likes these non-rotating powerlifting bars better (the other gym has those Oly style bars that rotates), we might have to keep coming here. UGHHHHH

    maybe i should start training hybrid style. 3 days powerlifting 3 days olympic?? alternate between the rigid bars and the rotating ones. so probably it'll be powerlifting strength +hypertrophy, and olympic + hypertrophy. MAD HYBRID

    but i'll have to attend some of the barbell club's meetings to learn some of that oly technique. today i tried front squats w just a bar, and nearly choked my poor self.

    leg day deload
    - squat warm up 95-150lbs, working 160lbs 3x3
    - pause squats 3x8 95lbs
    - front squats 4x8 raw bar
    - leg press 4 plates 4x10
    - goblet squats 3x10 40lb db
    - walking lunges 3x20
    - stiff legged 3x10 65lbs
    - hammy back extensions tried 2 sets (couldn't figure out how to balance, felt like i was about to fall)

    Started watching the ANIME death note. SO GOOD. Breaking bad, game of thrones, and death note. nothing beats these in tv series (for me, personally, bc i don't get all the political stuff).

    Tomorrow will def be a shoulder deload day, but i'll probably still train chest hard bc i haven't overloaded it yet.

    Food: oikos, 2 scoops whey, ONE power crunch bar (and no more pls, miss), brownrice/tilapia, pasta/broc****/tilapia

    not sure if its sustainable to keep eating fish only for protein

    Omg i need to go back to costco. we used to buy those huge boxes of oatmeal and then we got lazy bc it's soooo far to drive to. are puma leggings good (style wise and material wise)? I just went to an under armour outlet and grabbed a pair of leggings. it was $24. at least i know this won't rip like my $40 fabletics ones lol.

    ya yesterday i ended up eating 3 string cheeses afterwards and then a whole box of tofu (like 20f/35p/10c, which was amazing for rest day). The whole day was maybe 2100 cals w zero exercise. Yet LUCKILY i woke up this morning feeling lean and hungry (?!?!?!), which was amazing, lol.

    Those days happen and doesn't always make sense. I can have a low day and feel meh the next or have a high day and feel not fluffy, but it can go the other way around too. It all varies on random things it feels like. I tried to watch the anime show deathnote but only made it through the first episode. It was fine until the very end when he spouts off his reasons for accepting the deathnote. Did not make me want to keep watching. Good intentions at first but then goes off track for me as I usually prefer to like the main character or need something to keep me going and didn't get that. Though it was only one episode so maybe it gets better. I prefer Black Butler. *shrugs*

    I think they're on par, maybe a little thinner material but not see through, with my UA. Very compressing, which I like. 3/4 length but on the long side. Definitely don't feel like I'll rip them, but I've never ripped any leggings while lifting (I split a cute ebay pair at yoga once lmao)

    I do 90% of my food shopping at Cost Co. Oats, chicken, salmon patties, turkey burger, protein shakes, whey protein, almond milk, greek yogurt, rice.... Ugh I sound like such a bro lol.
