    Day 27

    Front Squat(45lbx10)X3;
    Overhead Press(45lbx5)X3;
    Romanian Deadlift(80lbx8)x3;
    (Lat Pull80lbx10, Kneeling Cable Crunch110lbx10)x 3;
    (Leg Raise x20, Push Up x 20, Bridges 45lbx50, )x3;
    Elliptical Resistance 5, 20 minutes.

    Today I can do Front Squat with Barbell! So Happy!

    Tomorrow I am going to meet my PT. I am excited and cannot sleep again. Hopefully he is as good as his profile.

    My diet has been horrible these days.
    Tomorrow I am going to control the damage and write down my macro again.

    Today after I can do front squat, I thought maybe I can do pull up one day.

    I never think I can do pull up because my upper body is weak. But I always want to do one and I think it will be so cool if I can do that eventually.

    Day 28

    I met my personal trainer, and I am very happy with the first training.

    What I like about him is that be keeps the session very simple, only teaches me squat. I really don't like PT gives me too many different workouts that I couldn't remember.

    He first measured my body fat. The bad news is that my body fat didn't go down at all.

    Then we went to squat machine. And he taught me how to do squats for 20 minutes at least. He corrected my forms and explains in very details what I did wrong. I am so glad that he teachs me squats first because I have been scared to increase my squats lifting since the guy told me that my form was wrong.

    At the end of the session, I asked for the macro. We went over a little bit over time because I have too many questions to ask.

    Morning 47g protein, 35g carbs, 11g fat

    Day 30,

    I have zero patience today.

    I see this guy again. He put 3 barbells on the floor, and he didn't even use them. He only lifts 65lb weights and throw BB hard on the floor.

    I took photo and show to the front desk, and they keeps saying that they would talk to him, and they never did.

    I have to go to the front desk 3 times, and eventually the guy talks to him.

    I guess I cannot go to this gym any more.

    I have to cut my workout short today.

    have you asked the annoying guy if you can work in with him? If he doesn't use the barbell once every 5min you can surely work some of your sets in. He seems to be a true idiot.

    Ah ok I see. Hope you like the new one better!
    I like your workouts now. Seems like it's some major leg+push+pull lifts, +cardio, and it's not too many things. I like it. Your muscles and strength will keep growing simultaneously. Sometimes I see girl's workout has heavy legs+light upper body and that's not great for the whole body development.

    Day 35

    Front Squat 50lbx10x3;
    RDL, 85lbx8x2, 85lbx10;
    OVP 40lbx6, 40lbx8x2;
    (Leg Raise x50, Bicep Curl 40lbx10)x2, Leg Raise x50, Bicep Curl 40lbx15;
    Lat Pull 75lbx8x3;
    Arm Hang;
    Swimming, 7 Laps, 25 minutes.

    Today i add one workout arm hang because I was really trying to do pull up.

    At first I tried to use assisted pull up machine, but that machine is always occupied. I was like 3 second late to have it.

    So i tried the pull up bar. Since I am so short, I cannot jump and reach the bar like guys do. So i bring a chair and step on the chair. It feels like I am going to hang myself for some reason. Then a guy came up and asks me if I would like to shared the pull up bar with him. I got really quiet because I really cannot do pull up. I think he took as I don't understand the English. So he pointed to the bar and said you are trying to do pull up right. I was like, ummm, yeah...He said me too, lets take turns.

    So after I get on the bar and cannot do one single pull up, he said, oh, you can have it for yourself. So instead I just do arm hang for a couple of seconds and done, and I let him have the pull up bar, put back the chair and went swimming.

    End of my first pull up training experience =D

    Nicely done so far. Keep on working. Interesting experience with the pull up aspect. I'd feel weird getting asked for working in on that but people rarely ask to work in on anything usually with me. I'm too short for the pull up bar spots too. In fact, some assisted ones I can't quite get the full motion cause the plates stop too early. I've used the smith machine though. Put the bar on the top setting and attempt to do pull ups/chin ups there, no jump required. Though I rarely ever do them.

    Day 37

    Squat 75lbx5, 75lbx6, 75lbx8; RDL 85lbx10, 85lbx15, 85lbx8, 85lbx8; Assisted Pull Up (body weight 124) 102lbx10, 90lbx15, 78lbx15, 66lbx8, 66lbx4, 66lbx12, 54lbx7,54lbx8; Elliptical, Res 5, 30 mins.

    Today is the first time my BF went down but my weight didn't, which means I gained muscle and lost fat.

    I can lose weight pretty easy but I am always frustrated that I drop more muscle than fat because I don't have much muscle left.

    So instead of only eat 1200 calories, I eat 1600 calories and add more cardio. The result is good. I don't lose muscle as quick as before. But that also means that I need to workout extra time, so I have to get up at 5am to finish the workout before my son gets up.

    I really don't want to stop any workout any more. I started late in my mid 30th, I already have disadvantage than younger people. So the only thing I can do is to put more work into it.

    Thank you. I think it is because my gym doesn't have much pull up bar, and there are way too many people that wants to use them.

    I don't mind share machine with people. It was only embarrassing because I know I couldn't do one pull up, and there is someone waiting for me to finish one LOL.

    Sounds like you like to workout quite a lot!! it's never too late to start. But yeah taking care of your son and everything... that adult life. I can't imagine. my workout pretty much drains me for the whole day. I have to drink coffee and replenish in order to be able to work after the gym.

    I need your help!! my boyfriend has had a fever for 5 days now, on and off. His doctor's office is closed for the weekend. I made him a whole chicken soup, and some chinese pear/snow fungus sweet soup to calm his cough down. Is there anything else (food wise) i can feed him? I'm going to make some rice porridge tonight (easy digestion), and adding in some pork sung.

    When my son has fever, I make him wear less clothes, sometimes naked. And give him bath to cool down.

    Food wise, depends he has appetite or not, if he does, just regular food. If he threw up, then bread and water.

    I would suggest to give him advil to reduce fever. If he still does not get better, then I suggest take him to ER that is covered under his insurance.

    I hope he gets better soon!

    Please get some rest yourself too. It is nice to take care of BF when he is sick, but make sure you take care of yourself first.

    Have you thought of getting a membership on your own so you can workout when he is away or sick? I know the feeling not getting a workout done. Costco has 24 hour membership which is 399 for 2 years, so about $16 per month.

    I do enjoy working out very much. But I think this website helps a lot. Being in a community where people workout everyday is very helpful.

    Last night I met another weird guy who is in my lane reading his phone not swimming the whole time.

    So I talked to two friends. One said not go there swimming. One said go, but if it happens again, alert the gym front desk.

    I have been thinking the whole night...

    At first I agree with my first friend that I should not go swimming. But then I feel frustrated, why do I have to change my workout routine because of one person.

    There must be some way to fix this problem than giving up the workout.

    Thank you dear. Your workout journal is awesome too!

    Yes, it is strange because we have two pools. If he only wants to soak his legs he could use the other pool that is not very deep.

    It was bothering me a lot that night. But now I don't care about it any more. I tend to forget about unhappy things very quickly. Now I just want to get some workout done and focus on my game =D

    Thanks for the tips! I'm trying to take care of myself, him, and our two kittens at the same time haha. It's great.

    I actually just very fortunately got my own pass (as a guest pass but I have my own little card thing to get in with) YESTERDAY! So my bf doesn't have to go with me. For us there's not that many choices in DTLA area, bc we live and work around here and traffic is terrible if we commute to the costco locations. But thank you! That's definitely a good thing to know. You're so sweet!

    We usually would just go to our gym at USC, but it's under renovation this entire summer (and they're not finishing it up on time), so we're renewing the membership at gold's gym DTLA for another month, hehe.
