    315 --> 405 squat, 405 --> 495 deadlift

    How many times were you guys able to rep 315 on squat before your 1RM was 405?
    How many times were you able to rep 405 on deadlift before your 1RM was 495?

    I'm 18 and 155 lbs and I just recently hit 315 squat for 8 reps. I've been chasing a 405 squat for the longest time and feel like I am so close but I want to see what everyone else has done before. Just recently completed Smolov JR but haven't tested my max yet. Previous squat max for 365 but it got up easy before Smolov.

    My deadlift max as well is unknown. I took a lot of time off from them to perfect my form and get my legs stronger with the Smolov for legs. Over 6 months ago was when I last texted my max (455) but I recently hit 405 for 7. Ever since I started deadlifting I wanted to hit 4 plates and I got that **** up easy one day. But now 495 is within reach and I'm just curious what you guys have repped before hitting 495-500

    thanks fellas

    This is going to vary a lot for bodytypes. I read in the Juggernaut method that lighter lifters and long-limbed/lankier lifters are generally better at reps than they are at maximums.
    I never had a program that called for me to to 315 to failure so I'm not exactly sure, but I know I've never done 8 reps of 315 and I can squat 405 comfortably.
    Deadlift, I'm not that strong yet, but I can dl 455 and I've never come close to 405 x 7

    For each of those numbers you're probably looking at about 7 or 8 reps to hit the 1 RM for squat and deadlift. There's going to be a lot of individual differences - mechanics, technique, muscle composition, fatigue, how long between when those were measured (not on the same day, as that would introduce it's own set of problems), etc., etc.

    My most recent example for squat - 440 (max attempted) 3 weeks ago, 335 x 11 today. A 1RM percentage chart would have predicted about 9 reps, but my predicted 1RM of around 455 is probably accurate given how my training has been over the last 3 weeks. I have a meet in 7 weeks and the goal is 210-215 kg (462-473 lbs) for the 3rd attempt.

    315 and 405 are too far apart to get a very good approximation between them. Higher rep sets don't consistently predict top end 1-3 rep strength. It's going to vary too much between individuals to really learn much from it.

    Just keep training on a reasonable program and eat food. If you are on a strength oriented routine it will have you lifting weights not too far off your 1RM often enough you'll get your best idea that way.

    1RM calculators put 315x8 at about 390-395 BUT 8 reps is too high to rely on for predicting a theoretical 1RM. You want 5 reps or preferably more like a 3RM to get a good idea. And of course, doing it is the only way to know what you can really get for 1 rep

    Im not sure how far apart these were, but back in the day my squat 1 rep PR was 425 and my 315 rep PR was 13, and I maybe could have had more but I felt like dying because that many squat reps really sucks (esp when you never did more than 5 in a set to speak of) so I stopped the set
