I'm newish at work and I have passed up every snack that has been brought or offered to me. Bagels, cupcakes, icecream, donuts, chips, only thing I ate was greek yogurt. This one chick always comments, "oh he won't eat it", I think they've started making fun of me behind my back. I'll be getting the last laugh though, gnomesayin?
Take a look at european meals/dinners vs meals in the states.

Fat people do not eat breakfast and it's a fact.
They constantly eat and there's never a traditional fasting period for them to break.
My bear mode year round bulking roommate got caught eating in his sleep. Literally had a bag of chips opened by the nightstand that he went for after coming back from a piss.

american adults are fat because they eat junk-food not only at breakfast, but all day long.
i've worked in offices the last three years and i'm astounded at how horrible people eat throughout the day.
it's seriously a constant stream of pastries, candies, chips, and garbage food from 8:30am-5pm. add on the fact that these people are completely sedentary, eschew exercise, and we have an obesity epidemic on our hands.**average penis crew**

The obesity epidemic has been caused by a) sugar and b) lack of portion control / over eating.
Cereal is for children, or adults who are too stoned to make toast.
I wake up and drink black coffee, then do a lot of cardio (ride to work)
I'll eat savory breakfast with lots of protein and fats at around 0930. Then I'll eat a savoury lunch at around 2pm with heaps of veggies. Then dinner at 7pm (again, heaps of veggies).
Exercise IMO is only 7% of what matters. 3% genetic and 90% nutrition. Sugar is the mothafukN devil.worse things happen at sea

- black coffee/no breakfast> reasonable lunch...no problem
- high protein breakfast > reasonable lunch...no problem
- no breakfast > "eat all the food" lunch...problem
- high carb/low protein breakfast > blood sugar spike and drop > "eat all the food" lunch...problem
And, if your "eat all the food" lunch is high carb without enough protein and fat to balance it then there is a good chance you get the blood sugar drop in the afternoon and the trip to the vending machine, which gives you the spike and drop again setting you up for a big dinner too.INTP Crew

Without breakfast hitting my protein macros would be a pain. But I also hate having a shake after lifting so morning is the ideal time.
Also love waking up and making a solid breakfast and some coffee.

Everyone has already said it ITT
People drastically underestimate how many grams of sugar they consume daily. It is only recommended that most people eat no more than 25g or something ridiculous. Not even one can of pop will already accomplish that.
I work in cardiac rehab and you'd be shocked how many people have no clue about nutrition and what they're eating (most people don't). This one patient was drinking 5-6 cans of regular coke per day and wondered why he had diabetes, was overweight and in his current situation. 150 grams of empty, useless sugar every day will slowly kill you.Barely use FB, deleted Twitter, never had an Instagram crew

This one.
They miss breakfast, so by morning tea-time they've low blood sugar and are feeling woozy - it'd be 14-16 hours since their last meal, dinner last night. This is when they head to the vending machine for a Mars bar and Coke.
By lunchtime it's now 18 hours since their last meal, they didn't bring lunch to work with them, so it's off to the food court. The sandwich bar beckons, but the McDs or KFC smells good and is much quicker. Chomp. Coke again. Slurp.
Afternoon tea is just coffee.
After eight hours of work and no food with much else than calories (not much protein, not much vitamins and minerals) they stagger home exhausted. What's that? Fridge is empty? Well there's the "vegetable crisping" drawer, but then they'd have to decide what to make, chop vegies, blah blah... hey look in the freezer there is a frozen chicken kiev, whack that in the microwave, there we go.
Some have a good dinner, especially if there's a stay at home parent to organise things for them. But that's their first good meal of the day. Notice also no fruit was consumed during the day.
After dinner they settle down on the couch in front of the tv and knock back a couple of beers, chips, chocolate biscuits, that sort of thing.
Through this day they made sure to park the car close to the entrance to work, go to the closest food court at lunchtime, and so on. They walked at most 2,000 steps during the day.
Because they don't have an active job or lift, they're weak, they have low muscle mass. So their body doesn't consume much energy just sitting around, the way it would if they had lots of muscle. Their knees hurt when they sit down and stand up, so that couch - they're staying on it all night. Their back hurts, too - all that time sitting makes their abs weak, their lower back does all the work, and again it's not strong, plus they carry a bit of extra weight at the front, so it's asking too much of it. "I'd like to work out, but I have bad knees and a bad back."
They stagger to bed, eight hours later their alarm goes off and it starts all over again.
So yes: fat people miss breakfast.
As a trainer, my only nutrition question for newbies is: "What did you have for breakfast?" My favourite answer: "a couple of cans of beer." Do I really need to ask them about the rest of their day? Breakfast sets the pattern for the rest of the day. If you can't organise yourself to have a good breakfast, you won't organise yourself to have any other good meals, either.

If you work for a large company or corporation with lots of employees, you'll notice that someone's always getting married, someones always retiring someone's always about to have a baby, and there's seemingly a birthday once per week, and if none of those are happening then there's some holiday (memorial day/4th of july/thanksgiving etc) and ALL those days means someones bringing in cookies and candy and chips and cakes and all sort of pastries, if you eat the junk they pile in that break room on a weekly basis you're gonna get fat. So yes, you're doing the right thing, because I guarantee next week there will be some other event that will give people an excuse to bring in more junk food, and the cycle never ends.
for example, for me (in just this past few weeks)....
-there was memorial day so everyone brought hot dogs and hamburgers and potato salad and cheese cake.
-the week after was the boss's birthday so they had a cake for him.
-and this week one of the employees found out she got into med school so they're all sitting around texting eachother behind her back becasue they want to throw her a congratulatory party.Last edited by Maestro; 06-14-2017 at 01:00 AM.

Its just misunderstanding the amount of food you need vs the amount you actually eat. Currently on day 5 of PSMF eating 7-800 cals a day (170g protein) and although I'm a little more hungry than usual its pretty tolerable atleast in the short term. Has definetly made me rethink how much food I need in a day

The trick is not to eat breakfast and then your first meal of the day at around 1pm eat a low calorie/high protein meal - say a tub of low fat greek yoghurt. Then don't eat again till around 4 or 5pm and you have saved yourself a lot of calories to go hard the rest of the day and go to bed feeling full and fit high calorie foods in to your macros. That's how i stay lean year around and I am never hungry. Mind blowing that people are still obese in 2017.
