We have the same problem here in Canada with people complaining. I think it's one of the signs that you live in a rich, developed country where people have the basics covered (food, shelter) so they complain about everything else (like speed limits).

You said there were no top tier schools in the south, not that they were mostly in the north and west. Maybe you should reread what you wrote.

I'm not from the south either but went to NC State for free as well thanks to sports and I love the south and it's people, anywhere in the country has low IQ people, acting like one region is worse is ignorant.

Also there were multiple southern schools offered to join an Ivy League expansion or a southern Ivy League conference and they said no because they wanted to keep the ACC or SEC money from sports.
