If i'm spending money to go on vacation or a trip or whatever you can be damn sure i'm going to enjoy great food. That being said, i don't binge or throw myself off my goals too much. I still try to exercise when i can. The key is to regain that focus and routine when you get home.

I stay as strict as possible year round. I find my self most content when Im achieving my goals. I dont like how my body feels if Im eating what Im not supposed to. I do have to be flexible when traveling of course but I do the best I can. I usually go abroad for several weeks and make it a mission to get back home in better shape than when I left, I really enjoy that.

Technically always "eat what I want". If I'm following a diet plan I have set at the time and going on vacation/holiday, I'll often do my best to just make smart food choices within reason while away. It's not an excuse to all out binge. Fit some good foods into your daily calories while gone. Still try to monitor calories somewhat if you're dieting and have a goal. If not, then I see no big reason as to tracking or worrying too much as long as you don't treat it like an 'all you can eat' binge.
Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!
