Yes. I worry about some of them too. I don't worry about myself there but I do worry about some of them. However, I usually let them be and just participate with certain people in goofy threads. I mean, it's their locker room, they don't need their mom there yelling at them

I absolutely agree about the point you made about how everything is different now in regards to social media, unlimited ports, etc. I have a 16 year old and I really fear for what he is going to have to go through dating wise. It was so much simpler when I was in high school/young adult.
As for the mom part in another one of your posts, sometimes I just can't control the mom in me from coming out. lol

Normal misc is the most active section, and a lot of topics have lolz qualities. I read it for the entertainment qualities, but I have only commented in the relationships section because that's really the only input I've had to add for the most part.
I stay out of the red pill threads and such because they are cringey at best and "sloot" bashing at worst.
Since I'm surrounded by men constantly while at work and then the gym after (predominantly male industry and almost all-male gym), I have just learned to filter out the worst of the locker room talk at this point. It rarely rustles me anymore.

There's nothing "normal" about the misc forum on this site.
No brain, no gain.

Too much truth. The misc is filled with exceptionally maladjusted men that are extremely insecure. They make up for their insecurity by putting down 99% of the people on forums when IRL they are mouses/betas. Ive ran into a few miscers IRL at my gym. They actually lift, unlike 99% of miscers. the misc is entertainment. nothing more, nothing less.

I went to that part of the forum out of curiosity... read some funny posts but most of them left me disgusted as in "do these men actually exist". I guess what was the most disturbing was reading about male users bashing and talking s.hit about their girlfriends, friends, wives. I know there are many trolls out there, but it seemed like there are even more shallow people.

As sexist and racist as the misc can be I'm not gonna lie, it's hilarious.
When I first started posting I had no idea what I was getting myself into, didn't understand the references, the lingo, or anything. I was always that "b-but n-n-not all women are like that!!" person. But ya learn to laugh it off.
Also it's probably the closest insight into "locker room talk" that'll I'll ever see so it's pretty interesting hahaculturally enriching the misc since 2015

Dangler here, and somewhat of a necro bump I guess,
but I came here hoping to get a female insight since I've recently started visiting the regular Misc...
It's honestly the most ridiculous place.... after the initial first few days of horror and disgust, start to realize it's just absurd.
Being both in military with infantry, sports teams, etc, never seen, heard, or dealt with anything anywhere close to Misc.
Thanks all for posting here... too bad it's a wasteland... but I guess I shouldn't have expected to find a female version of Misc...

I think it depends immensely on the type of guy.
I talk the same way to women as I do guys, but I also never hung around the kind of guys who post in misc. I am also a bit of a nerd so maybe that is why hah
When I worked at the public works, it was pretty much as you describe though. They make their comments in "private" about how attractive a woman is or her body parts, but once around them, they square up :P
One summer the police actually got on the shared radio to tell us this one particular lady was working at the car dealership, and you could see her cleavage. Naturally, everyone in the borough drove by to say hi to her lol..../||||||\=======()

I saw this one guy commenting about how he thinks women who have sex after he's only taken them out one or two times, or have one night stands with are absolute trash and I'm thinking...dude. You had sex with HER on the first or second date and you had a one night stand with HER talk about double standards.

I plan on going to OCS after college if possible and joining the Marines. Part of it is deliberately cause the branch has so little female leadership.
I had a fwb who's a Marine, we're still on good terms, when I first told him I was thinking of joining he warned me not to have casual sex with anyone around me (wasn't planning to but I see why he bought it up because I had casual sex with him so) cause in the Corps you'll get labeled as a wook ****ing her way into promotions or people think the women get promoted cause a higher up just wants to **** her, or that stuff. I said it was a double standard but I wasn't gonna do it anyway, we didn't talk about it again, but I'll see comments on the Marines instagram on the 100 year anniversary of women in the Corps about how guys think female Marines are sex relief stress toys and no one would ever respect a wook.
It makes me hate it but it also makes me want to prove em wrong cause I see there's also dudes that get defensive cause they know a cool woman in their unit or something and know it's not really like that and have more respect and I think it's cool to be a positive representation of a minority

Tbh I doubt they're that bad in real life. Guys behind keyboards AND in groups of other guys AND on a site about bodybuilding n muscles and stuff....recipe for them being the literal worst versions of themselves. Saw a bunch of dudes posting pics of a girl saying they'd be down to go to jail for raping her, yikes. That was a while ago and haven't seen anything as bad since but it came out so casually and easily.

This thread restored some of my faith in humanity...that we can all recognize the cesspool that is BB.com misc for what it is. It is interesting because it's sort of like men's locker room talk at it's worst, "sloot" bashing, sexism and double standards everywhere, autistic politics, getting negged for saying something normal, guys who are clearly insecure and take it out on women. But it's also nice to know that it's just the worst and there are many better men out there.

Why would you call it "Normal" Misc? I would call it "Abnormal Misc"!! A better term would be main Misc or regular Misc, lol.
Not female, but I remember one thread where the guy was pissed that a 40 year old overweight secretary at his work got divorced and started online dating, and she would giggle with the female coworkers about how she had men offer to take her out on their boats and fancy dinners.
He was moaning that it's unfair as he's a fit bodybuilder who gets no female attention, and she's an overweight female with tons of male attention.
Then they guys ask why he's posting about what old people do, and that old guys are the biggest white knights.
Then there was that other direalboss guy who was complaining about how women are sloots, but he's the one who posted about how he picked up on "thinks" on Grindr.
It's more for entertainment value, much more so than a TV show.
Just the responses make me lol.

This is an amazing point. I really don't think the general misc should be like a locker room to a point that we don't feel safe to post there unless we are posting in the female misc section.
I have been bodybuilding for years, ever since the beginning of college. I relied heavily on the regular misc in my college years for personal advice and just forming my basic view points of the world because I found bodybuilders more relatable in terms of values. Since on regular forums, I often think we have really different lifestyles to a point that their advices might not often apply to me.
But some of the stuff from the general Misc is straight up toxic. And now looking back I am aware of how much shame I felt going on there because people would just assume I would "attention-slooting" even though bodybuilding is for everyone. I shouldn't feel uncomfortable getting the support I need from people and connecting with people who enjoy the same thing and share the same set of values.
I really don't like the general consenses that women just lift or go to the gym or whatever just to get male attention, and how people regard that as a really negative thing. Everyone wants to be attractive and the guys in the general misc def always talks about how many list to get laid and look attractive. Don't we all want to be hot at any age? Why would I feel ashamed if I want to be more attractive?
