Weight training best training for sprinting performance?

In this study called : THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT SPEED TRAINING PROTOCOLS ON SPRINT ACCELERATION KINEMATICS AND MUSCLE STRENGTH AND POWER IN FIELD SPORT ATHLETES

Which is a study that involves more than 30 rugby players and separates them into four groups for 6 weeks : the first group (FST) train by sprinting alone. (RST) train by sprinting with a heavy sled they must pull. (PT) is plyometric training. (WT) is weight training.

This table describes the different trainings with more details (Remove 0)

This table describes the time they did on a 10 m run before their training and after

The ES (an appreciation of how much progress was made) is the highest for the weight training team. Is it true that to accelerate better I should prioritize weight training more than anything else?

this has been known for ages, but somehow ignored by coaches. The belief is that lifting weights and having bigger muscles slow you down, which is only partially true. Bigger muscles contract at exact same speed as smaller muscle, trained or untrained makes no difference. The difference is in the technique, and sport-specificity of muscle development. Kind of complex topic.
