    Is This Bull****?

So this site, stronglifts.com says this about " how to build bigger arms "

    1. Avoid Curls. Increasing your Squat & Deadlift will build your arms faster than biceps curls & triceps extensions. Get stronger and eat more.

How the **** is squatting and deadlifting going you build your arms faster than a DIRECT ISOLATION EXCERSIZE for that body part? wtf?

    2. Get Stronger. Strength is size. Increase your Squat to 140kg/300lb, increase your Bench Press to 100kg/220lb, and increase your Deadlift to 180kg/400lb. This will increase your overall muscle mass.

^ It's saying strength is size? Is this true??? If it was why wouldnt everyone be doing 5x5 for biceps curls trying to get more " SIZE "

    1. Nonsense. I do think that improving in pullups, rows, bench, ohp etc would do more for arms than just curls and extensions but squats and deadlifts are not going to give you big arms.

    2. This is a bit harder to answer. For novices, strength gains don't necessarily mean size gains. A lot of the strength gains are coming from increased neural efficiency and skill development (learning the movement).

For more experienced lifters, though, strength and size are much better correlated (particularly when you're talking about the 5-12 rep range vs. 1RM strength).

Heavy 5x5 curls would not be a good idea. It would be a lot of stress on the elbows and would probably lead to tendonitis and other issues. I'd would train them in more moderate reps, e.g. 6-12 reps as an example.

Keep in mind that Mendhi is an internet promoter trying to draw as many people into doing his program as possible. Take what he says with a grain (or a shaker) of salt.
    You can't help the hopeless.

    You're overthinking things OP.

    1. Stop fixating on the size of your arms.
    2. Compound movements are full body movements, meaning they hit multiple parts of your body.

I'm also doing starting strength. the writer (Mehdi) is known to talk a lot of BS or just make it seem like his program is the best and everything else is crap. I added chin ups and dips to my workout.
