Haven't played since the end of cars and a little bit of mop. I got out at mop, ****in was an awful expantion.
Started to play again and i have to hand it to blizz theyve actually done some unique ****tt this time around. Quests campaigns, class halls, artifact weapons( they actually do that part veryy well).
The ONLY complaint I have so far and its been this complaint since the middle of cata is the lack of professions being of any use anymore.
So if anyone's thinking about getting back into wow. I'd say give it a go.

Leveled to 60 on ELysium and had a great time doing that, but not enough time to raid so just kind of stopped again.

If you are really into PvE and have a good deal of spare time it's decent and worth a go. I played for a couple months during release, did some raiding/arenas but the prune from WoD to Legion (after an already insane prune in wod) really killed pvp for me. The classes felt extremely hollow and there was dramatically less room to outplay your opponents.

(sorry not to derail thread, high interest in this game)
The other thing is they are banking on nostalgia factor of a niche everquest fanbase who wants the classic, hardcore experience again on a new gen MMO. They even use original spell sounds and such for stuff if you watch any of the videos (i've followed the live streams at least). I feel that philosophy almost never works out because people want phat lewtz for little effort for the most part, otherwise it's a massive undertaking for what? Not millions of players, maybe (big maybe) 10's of thousands.
There is a very divided community outlook on Brad McQuaid (key designer of original EQ and director for Pantheon), there's one group who thinks he's a cokehead who ran vanguard into the ground (he basically disappeared after the botched launch), others think he is a videogame visionary and have very high hopes for Pantheon and McQuaid being behind it.
I'm not sure where I stand, but I will be VERY hesitantly optimistic and won't be an early adopter. I do hope it the best, regardless.Last edited by dcbone30; 05-28-2017 at 08:21 PM.

The 7.2 patch for me so far has been terribly disappointing where I'm considering unsubbing (again). Nighthold is boring now, Broken Shore is boring, everything is time-gated to chit and the "weekly story quests" leading up to ToS opening are just generic go kill x amount of these creatures quests.
I'm sitting at 907 ilvl and 54 traits into my artifact weapon and I think that's as high as I'll get cause I cbf mythic raiding 3-4 days a week.
I'm hoping ToS is amazing and it ignites my interest again.PSN: Quadzilla501

Most of what I've seen I've liked. So what if youre grinfing the same mythics. What about back in bc when you had to do the same 3 dungeons trying to rep grind and get that one epic you need from the rep vendor.
Mostly i see people complain about **** they use to have to do. Now since they've been doing it for years its boring to them and try to make it seem like its a stupid thing to do. It's a theme park mmo. And it's been out since 04. It's not goung to be a whole new game and nothing will be groundbreaking.
Now if things are just plain ****ty,broken and/or just an uninteresting plot. Like the end of wotlk and pvp in mop. Or anything in mop. Than i get it. But complaining about having to grind the same dungeons and raids isn't anything new.
Im not max level so we will see how bad it really is.190lbs Comp lifts: 420/350/600 USAPL

MoP was great up until the end of s15.
This expansion was fine but playing the game straight since TBC it's so fuking boring, unbearable and life consuming that I can't be bothered to play anymore. I quit several months ago for good.
I wish I could find a reason to play again, but I can't. I'm interested in that new kickstarter MMO that was posted here (Ashes of creation) but it'll probably be the next Rift or Blade and soul.Last edited by Mehhzyy; 06-01-2017 at 08:07 AM.

I re-subbed after leaving mid WoD. The AP grind is ridiculous and the game just feels like a theme park because there's a hundred things to do but they're all tied to RESOURCES and AP. Not to mention the ridiculous RNG gearing system, poverty legendaries, and the pathetic state of pvp. This xpac is also very alt-unfriendly....yeah there's catchup mechanics but then you're missing out on gear and progression with your main, unlike previous xpacs where you could rest easy after getting your tier set.
I'm probably gonna unsub soon. The only thing keeping me is the artifact campaigns, since I've only experienced it on 3 toons. The one thing they nailed is class halls, artifact campaigns, and the zones.
If PvP were better I'd keep my sub, because the game is actually very enjoyable to just play through casually. Put it this way....people playing with their kids for a few hours a week are probably loving the game right now. But as soon as you want to be competitive it's a hapless grind.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

I quit cause my guild broke up in March after 7/10 Mythic Nighthold.
I was having fun until then, but having to rejoin into a new guild that is in the middle of a tier ****ing sucks dick.
Probably won't come back until 7.3 or whenever Sargeras raid comes out.Bench 315x1 - Squat 415x1 - Deadlift 515x1 Total = 1,245

I was having a blast but we kept losing 1 key member after another and **** just got ugly with new recruits.
I enjoyed mythic emerald nightmare or w/e and trial of valor.
Back to grinding on old school runescape again which has been fun, but WoW always will have a special place in my heartBench 315x1 - Squat 415x1 - Deadlift 515x1 Total = 1,245

That's good. I'd like to raid but cant dedicate the time anymore. I just pvp.
I like to watch shows on raiding though. Like asmongold and hotted started a podcast and they just had Preach Gaming on. Asmongold said more than half his guild bailed during mythic nighthold.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

I do miss the whole progression era. You start off weak as fuk, grey items, conquer your first dungeon get that first blue. Decked in the best armor by end game and watch the filthy peasants inspect you. I also miss exploration aspect and doing quests for those sub plots in a specific area. These days I just sprint through leveling. Legion raiding is fun but the there is a lot of things missing. PVP is dead, story is dead, no world building etc.

It's really not wrong though. Ive been playing pretty consistently since MoP, which was ironically the last time this game was really great in both pve and pvp.
Of course you navigate raid mechanics too but the game is clearly rotation based. In pvp, your hands actually cramp up if you're in an extended fight.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω
