Thanks for letting us watch your vid, your form looks fine and execution was careful and thorough at a deliberate pace.
Your patience is amazing. I hurt my left shoulder a few years back and it became chronic, because I never gave my shoulder a needed rest. It's always there and never completely healed. Wish you no more injuries in the future.

Thank you!
This "amazing patience" only came after years and years of injuries getting worse after I didn't give them enough time to heal.
Thank you. I'm trying to get my running pace up. It's difficult.
Thanks. I also have a couple sets of dumbbells, some kettlebells, a punching bag, treadmill, elliptical, and gravity table.
Thank you.
They felt great. I couldn't believe how easy it felt."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

Arthritis and Spondo have been acting up the past couple of days. I think it's the weather. Tonight I have a sleep study to see if I have apnea, so three days in a row without exercise. I don't like how that feels.
Deadlift and bench tomorrow regardless of how I feel."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

Sorry to hear that you haven't been able to train in a few days. Hopefully you are either clear of apnea or they can help you get better sleep. I wake up several times throughout the night usually so should probably get tested for that too. The squat vid looked great the other day. Love how the music got you inspired! Good luck with the deads and bench!

Are you a sleep lab technician, Shawn, or a breathing therapist?
That was one of my worst nights of sleep since Jake was a baby. Haha!
I can't wait to see what the doctor says.
Get checked out. I have high hopes about my exercise recovery and increased fat loss. I have had a very difficult time losing weight the last 10 years or so, and I didn't even know I was stopping breathing while I sleep until my wife told me. Well, that didn't go at all how I expected. I got home from work after two days away because of my sleep study, and found the lawn was out of control. Two days did this? Ugh. I have the spectre of tilling and planting this weekend, so I couldn't put this off no matter how bad I wanted to.
1.5 hours later, my forearms were smoked, and I was dripping with sweat. Okay...so tonight I'll run on the treadmill after dinner. No biggie.
After dinner, we took a walk to help settle our food, and then I got on the treadmill for 35 minutes.
I had roughly 2.5 hours of cardio today.
I better be ripped when I wake up tomorrow.
Okay...tomorrow is going to be deadlifts, bench, and squats.Last edited by Marius_Ursus; 06-23-2017 at 05:59 AM.

Squat
1x5x115
1x5x125
1x5x145
205 Walkout
3x5x165
One wonders...more sets at 165 or attempt 175 next week...probably smart to vary intensity with 165 at the center for another week before adding weight.
Squat Chin
3x5
Dumbbell Concentration Curl
1x8x15
Bench Press
1x5x95
185 liftoff
1x3x155 (big surprise, was hoping for a single)
1x5x145
1x5x135
I think next week I'll do sets of 145 and skip the heavy set. The heavy triple felt awkward.
Deadlift
1x3x135
1x3x155
1x3x175
1x3x195
1x3x205
1x3x215
First couple of sets felt weird...off...wobbly. My mind had been wandering. I was distracted by Jake wandering around digging through my tool box, taking whatever he wanted (like fuses) and trying to nail them together. When I finally got him corralled and felt like he was safe, it dawned on me that I had ditched my pre-lift ritual. I got my head straight, and got the set, pop, and lock I was looking for through the rest of the sets.
It felt good to finally get some iron hoisted after almost a full week without lifting."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

So nice to get in some summer yardio .... would have been a good excuse to give the treadmill a miss (hate cardio for cardio's sake )
Good work with the squats and deads ... glutes, hams and erectors should be toasty after a solid day in the yard yesterday and some good volume work today"Better to wear out than rust out!"
Squat 165kg/363lbs
Deadlift 190kg/418lbs

Good looking workout yesterday Marius. Solid numbers and well-rounded. Nailing fuses together? That usually doesn't go well... Glad you were able to get your head straight and get it done. And geeze, yardio, THEN cardio. That's some serious dedication! I may do those in reverse order today and use yardio to cool down. "Cool" down, ha ha, that's funny... Way to get it all done, you should be ripped after all of that!

It has a little bit of an impact on my squat, but my deadlift was stronger than expected, even for the problems in the beginning. I topped out higher than I thought I would.
Yardio is okay...but man, I have five acres to take care of, and with a full time job that ain't easy.
Thanks. My son is curious and experimental. He really needs the wisdom to know what not to drive nails through...
That's my plan!
And today I'm supposed to be tilling, but the dairy farm down the road is spraying pesticide in their corn field, and I don't want to be out in that. The one day I have free to work all day outside, and they pull this crap. Why can't they spray during the week?"Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

I just weighed myself for the first time since I started this journal, and I'm down to 191 pounds. That's a 9-pound loss in four weeks.
11 pounds off my goal weight...awesome."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

Nice workout progress and cool weight loss control!! Good for you, my friend!
There is a Japanese pear farm across from my apartment building. It's always Saturday and Sunday morning They use some heavy farm equipment. Its noise and smoke from fuel burning are terrible. Worse in March, they burn pruned branches in open, smell and smoke are horrible. Why weekends, I always wonder. (I have no grudge against the farm, they have their own reasons that much I understand though.)🌺 Lauren Brooks Kelly (snailsrus) - Jul 25, 1991 – Jan 29, 2022
