    Is a combination of static holds and concrete movments more effective for gaining strength than concrete movments ?

    I doubt it. I would have thought that dedicating the same level of effort to conventional lifting would be better than less conventional lifting + some static holds. Unless you have some sticking point that is overcome with the help of static holds.
