Scivation Quake Non-stim: 10.0 Richter Scale

Welcome to the log! First and foremost I want to thank the good crew over at Scivation for choosing me for this promo. This is a product I've been watching since I first got wind of it. I have been meaning to do a stim break, so this came at a very good time!

Very sleek design with clear ingredient amounts. I will be giving my thoughts on each of the ingredients in the next few posts. Of course, I had to tear into the product!

Very happy to see the long handle. I've used many products before where I practically had to jam my hand into the tub. Its the little details like that that really make the difference in quality. A scoop is roughly 12.5g. My scale doesn't measure tenths, so a scoop is right on the money. I always weigh new products just to test out the volume of the powder and scoop size.

With a lemon flavor, I was excited about the taste. Lemon is usually my go-to for supplement flavors. The taste was a mellow lemon with a sour kick at the end of each sip. Not too sweet and not too sour. This is a good mid-line flavor that I think everyone will enjoy. I took a close-up of my container, and virtually zero residue was left. I used about .5 liters of water. A quick swish around and it was all gone. Mixed very smooth with zero grit.

Will be giving my feedback about my first workout tomorrow. Stay tuned!

That scoop size looks right on the money. I always weigh my scoops as well when I first get them.

I agree with the flavoring. With temperatures already in the 90s here, I find this flavor very refreshing with some added ice.

    Background

I thought now would be a good time to get into my background before I give my thoughts on the first workout. I've been lifting on off and since I was 15 and am in my late 20's now. I was very into hypertrophy and strength routines when I was younger. These days, I do not have as much free time, so I focus more on general fitness and trying to make incremental improvements. I'm currently on a mini-cut of about 10lbs. I've tried almost every type of supplement out there with a focus on pre-workouts. I truly believe that pre-workouts can give you that extra edge and intensity in the gym.

    Workout 1 (Back and Biceps)

Last night I slammed my pre-workout and headed off to the gym. Being on a stim break, I was pleasantly surprised to still feel plenty of energy once I arrived. What better way to start a pump product than with a back and bicep day?

    HS Lat Pulldown
    4x10x155

By the end of my last set, I could definitely feel the pump ingredients kicking in. Citrulline always has that effect on me, especially in high dosages.

    Cable Lat Pulldown
    135x10
    145x10
    155x2x10

This is where it really started to kick in. I've always been a firm believe in the pump aiding the mind muscle connection. I already have a good mind muscle connection when I hit back, but I felt it much deeper in the lat this time.

    Straight Arm Pulldowns
    45x10
    55x10
    60x2x10

By this point, it was in full effect and I could feel an obvious pump in my arms and upperbody, despite the fact I had not started biceps yet.

    Assisted Pull-ups
    4x10

    BB Curls
    4x10

    DB Curls
    4x10

Hitting my arms directly definitely was the finishing touch.

    Initial Thoughts

Energy was high despite the fact that it was the first time I hadn't used caffeine in over a year. My tempo was increased as well. I will continue to monitor that and my endurance. As for the pump, I have not used a better product. That is one of the deepest and full pumps I have had in a long time. Looking forward to the rest of the workouts.

Seems like for me there is a link between energy and motivation and I for a long time equated that to stimulants. I do feel a huge motivation boost when using the stim free Quake though, find myself doing less rest times and just ripping through my workout then adding more stuff.

    Workout 2

    Leg Press
    225x4x15

    Squats
    135x10
    155x3x10

    Leg Extensions
    4x10

    Dumbell Straight Leg Deadlifts
    50x10
    60x10
    70x10

Finished up with calves and abs.

This was my first early morning workout with stim-free Quake. I normally down quite a bit of caffeine so it was hard to get moving at first. Once I slammed Quake and got to the gym, and started doing my sets, the energy was there. Very solid pump in my quads on the extensions and definitely tried to increase my tempo again as well. Had a very good mind muscle connection in my hamstrings and got a deep stretch. Overall it was a great workout.

Its interesting you say that b/c I actually thought I'd have much more difficulty being on stims than I'm having. Being stim free isn't having a negative effect on my workouts.

this is encouraging news. Most of my current PWOs have 300mg or greater, and I was so ready to try something like this, but was a little concerned how it would affect me. I start Monday. Can't wait.

I used to use ones that had a lot in them for a while and I'd chug my pre down and go play on my phone for a bit until the tingles hit and then I'd know it was time to go kill it. So if there are no beta alanine tingles how do you know when to go lift???

Now I just wait about a half hour and hen as soon as I start lifting things usually kick into high gear for me.

I remember a long time ago when I went from stimmed out to stim free, I did have trouble for a week or two. I was just really tired feeling in the gym, and had to push through my workouts. After that little week or two hump though, it all went away. I feel better than ever all day, now that I don't take stims. I did not have quake back then though, so maybe that's why millertime isn't noticing a negative effect on his workouts.

I think this is industry wide as an assumption that stims are the have all be all of pwos, I've started using less and less and having better and better workouts myself. Gotta get my hands on this stim free now!

At the absolute most, I occasionally get a faint tingle in my fingertips while stretching during my warmup, but they're gone by the time I start lifting, and usually I don't even get that.

I agree with it, once you realize it's all in your mind and that you're truly free doing something you like you derive so much motivation. Adding a pre or pump product would be the equivalent of adding glaze to an already delicious donut (lol at analogy), but that's kind what it feels like to me. I left stims for a bit, not as long as you but definitely have seen both sides, the pump effect is highly enjoyable no matter what stim amount is for me.

    Workout 3

    Dumbell Flat Bench
    50x10
    60x10
    70x2x10

    Incline Bench Press
    135x3x10

    Seated Dumbell Press
    50x4x10

    Lateral Raises
    20x4x10

    Machine Rear Delt Flys
    4x10

Finished up with cable pulldown work for triceps

Another solid workout in the books! Very solid mind muscle connection and contraction when I hit incline bench. A huge pump has always helped me with "feeling" the muscle I'm working. Triceps were literally engorged with blood by my last set of pulldowns. I can't say I miss caffeine all that much at this point. Today, I'm going to catch up on some errands and put together some beef stew in the slow cooker.

Another early morning in the books! The longer I am off stims, the easier its been to get moving in the mornings. I generally try to get to the gym at 5am during the week, so I get up around 4:40am. Everything flowed smooth today, with a solid pump and energy. It was a high tempo today, with very short rest periods.

would you say you felt pretty good for the rest of the day too? morning workouts typically have me feeling "meh" for a large portion of the day. I havent tried quake for an early morning workout yet so I can't really comment on how i feel after

We must be different, because I actually seem to have more energy and feel great throughout the day after morning workouts. I never take stims though, and I also never workout immediately after waking. I just don't like training fasted. I feel like it's bad for my goals being on a permabulk. I'll also be low energy, and I've heard it's good to have fats in your system for joints. I usually eat breakfast, then start my workout about an hr later.

Do you eat anything before those early AM workouts, or take anything intra workout millertime? If not, is there anything you dislike about training fasted
