    Supplements to Reduce Inflammation?

    Hey, I'm new here!

I recently discovered, after taking a week off from working out, that my allergies improved. I don't think it was a coincidence, because now I'm noticing that right after I work out, they tend to act up more.

I know allergies are a kind of inflammation, and working out can cause inflammation in the body as well -- so that's my guess of what's going on.

Right now I'm not taking any supplements. Gain isn't really my goal, I just want to feel better. Any advice on reducing inflammation from my workout -- if that's what's going on here?

    Thank you!

Protein, fish oil, creatine, BCAA's, glutamine, proper rest and staying hydrated will all help battle inflammation.

I would look to a stiff dosing schedule of curcumin along with those mentioned above

Increase your protein intake. Shoot for 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Protein contains, bcaa's and glutamine

Get 8 hours a sleep per night and drink a gallon of water per day. This should improve your recovery, if not check back for more options

Some inflammation from lifting weights is natural, you don't want to hinder the body's natural adaptations too much. It really depends how severe it is when looking to alleviate it.

    Boswellia serrata
    Curcumin
    Ashwagandha
    Panax Ginseng
    Rhodiola Rosea
    Epicatechin

A lot of inflammation comes from diet. Adopting a "paleo-type diet" could help you as well.

    ^This + fish oil.

I'd say the best supplement if investing in just one for overall health and inflamation would be Super-bio curcumin by Life Extension.
Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!

true , one of the best ( I take arthro immune from the same company ( curcumin and paractin ), and I don't like Life Extension very much.
this and fish oil should help, if everything else is ok ( like hydratation, diet )

Curcumin (do your research and buy a good brand)

Also like said above, the biggest thing is diet. That can also depend on individual dietary allergens and what not. For example, I found through trial and error that Whey for years was giving me sinus issues, once i stopped using it they subsided completely in 2 weeks. Some people can also eat wheat no problem, others it may cause bloating and inflammation, avoid the foods in your diet that are causing you symptoms and you will reduce the inflammation.

Curcumin without a doubt, and it carries many other benefits as well. Fish oil is good but (please correct me if I'm wrong) the dosing of EPA/DHA for anti-inflammatory benefits is quite high, 6g or so if I remember correctly.

Hmmm really? Where did you hear that about the fish oil? I'm seeing it sold in mostly 1g supplements.

It looks like everyone is recommending curcumin so I'll definitely look into that as a start. Don't want to reply to all the responses, but thanks to everyone who's responded!

My bad, I was thinking of muscle soreness.

"If the goal of supplementation is to reduce soreness, a 6g dose, spread over the course of a day, will be effective."

Start with a simple Multivitamin and Fish oils, preferably Omega 3-6-9 you can look into an HMB supplement. Clear Muscle is really good.

You can always go with an all in one formula such as Helios by Chaos and pain. That with fish oil is a good stack. I've also said multiple times on these forums that Flexatril is great.

Fish Oil and Curcumin (Super Bio Curcumin from Life Extension) will be great to help with inflammation.

Diet will play a big role in inflammation as well.

I take KSM-66, Boswelia and iFN Joint Help (cissus + paractin) daily for anti-inflammatory purposes. Big fan of that combo personally.

The following vitamins are anti inflammatory: vitamin C and vitamin D.
Most people are not aware about their vitamin D deficiency.
