Why? There's a huge functional design flaw as noted above.

Unless i could get it at sub $500 there are plenty of good used commercial lat machines out there.
Not that I'm anti titan i have their RH and SSB its just that their price point/quality equation isn't there with the lat tower.
The juice just isn't worth the squeeze on this one IMHO

While you're fixing their mistakes, it lakes more than a few minutes to make some new pads to replace the crap that's included with this one. Also good luck if anything breaks or wears out after the one year warranty expires.

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

Or not, lol. Different strokes and all....

I must live in a terrible market or something because I never see good commercial lat machines pop up and whenever they do they certainly aren't sub $500.

I drove ~60miles to pick up one of these for $260... https://www.fitdir.com/tuffstuff-cg-...t-mid-row.html

I've seen two Paramount units (one with a 400lb stack) pop up for sub-$500 locally (Los Angeles).

Deals are out there, but it requires tons of patience and lots of searching because I'm sure there are flippers in most major cities.

Well you can always move down here to the rust belt always room for a few more.
I just did a search at CL Detroit right now there are 3 commercial grade lat towers one York and 2 Cybex all with 300LB stacks below $500 asking FWIW.

I kept hearing how much Titan has improved within the last year, so I just ordered several Titan accessory pieces during their 15% sitewide sale. Well, the welds are indeed worlds apart from where they were in the past. In fact, most of the welds on the stuff I received this time around were quite good. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ended.

There were a lot of large chips like this in the paint of every piece I received. Titan keeps claiming they powder coat their stuff, but I have not received a single piece of powder coated equipment from them. Everything I have received has been spray painted with a single, thin coat of paint. Honestly, I'm far less bothered by the chips than I am their repeated claims that this is powder coat.

Additionally, the barbell rack I ordered is listed as using UHMW liners (as one would expect). However, the rack I received is using what I would guess to be polypropylene. It's certainly not UHMW in any case (like the paint, it can be sliced through with a fingernail).

The below image is from the adjustable plyo box I received. All 6 of these bolts were too short. This isn't a big deal as they can be easily replaced, but it's frustrating to have to make a run to the hardware store (especially when you live in a fairly rural area where it's a 25-min drive) for yet another QC issue. The cotter pins were missing also. Ultimately, it didn't matter as the box is unusable. The adjustable legs are, ironically, not adjustable due to another QC issue. The inner steel posts are so tight within the outer ones that would need a rubber mallet to get them in there, which means you would never be able to adjust the box.

A little surface rust is not a big deal, but this is quite a bit for day 1 imho.

My Titan RH is powder coated, and it's held up nicely for the last year, even after I've slammed things into it moving stuff around in the gym. I don't remember if the rest of the Titan stuff I have is powder coated, though I believe the trap bar is. It seems like the cheaper accessories and such still get the crappy black paint.

My Titan bar holder has UHMW liners, as near as I can tell from touch and feel. It look like the same stuff that's on my Rep bar holder, and the Titan finish and lining have held up better than the Rep's. I bought it a year or two ago, so it's possible they've changed things.

I didn't like the Titan plyo box - mine was also too tight to adjust easily, though not quite pound-with-mallet tight.

As for rust in the tubes, meh. That's pretty much how steel tubing looks inside.

I have a good amount of Titan stuff. The only thing I’ve had that was legit powder coated was the first short yoke I had.

The pulley issue on the lat tower really is a bummer. Considering that it is only 100 more than the Powertec and includes a 300lb stack, it seems like a no brainer for those of us who continue to strike out on used commercial equipment.

Tell me how to post an image and I will do that next time I am able to take a picture. It is less than 1/10th of an inch off center as noted in an above post of mine (post #3987 of this thread).

Haven't seen that. They just came out with a Stone of Steel clone, too. I don't know what shipping is on the real one, but $736 on sale for the Titan seems pretty damn steep when the real deal is $895.

I have the Husafell carry stone (can't post links- but if you search titan for husafell stone, it shows up) and it's pretty solidly built. The specs on it say 110lbs but it actually was 98lbs. I contacted Titan and they sent a 10lb ruck at no charge. Arrived within a week. I keep it tucked in there at the bottom. The seams are tight so if the press block is made equally as well, wouldn't imagine sand would slip out (and if lead shot is able to escape, they really f'd up). Good luck if you end up with one.

I missed it. Is there a place that says when these flash deals are coming ahead of time?

This is pretty neat...noticed that it is at $800 with the platform for Black Friday...it weighs 175 without the plates. I had made three stones with a 150 mold and had to place inserts in them to get different weights.

Are not the pull up bars for the T3 and the X3 the same? The vertical face of each rack is 3" and the hole sizes and spacing are the same, although I guess you could end up with a bolt that is an inch short.

Ordered the rackable trap bar. Rogue clone I suppose. Fingers crossed that the handles are straight!
