Works pretty well, so I just need to streamline the setup with a single platform of the right height that I can just flip down instead of futzing with blocks and mats.

Not sure how long the vinyl covers will hold up, but I do like how quiet the silencer pads make my deadlifts. Even with a controlled eccentric there'd be a thump/vibration on the stall mat/plywood platform that could be heard through the house. Now the loudest part of the deadlift seems like the SCREEEEE of sliding comp bumpers on/off the Rogue DL bar.

Actually titan is 150 shipped. Edge is 315 shipped.

I like my edge combo bar but any savings can help!

Csn you post the dimensions of your small platform for it?

It has exceeded my expectations, heavy duty materials and clean welds like we have seen on their Titan series equipment. Forgot about shipping for Edge, it's a no-brainer then when you look at the cost savings of Titan. The box is about 24"L x 16"W x 5"T, I have four beams running in the middle evenly spaced out and a 3/4" thick leftover baseboard for the top (then Horse stall mat). Handle on the Rickshaw is still a hair thin but it hasn't bothered me so far, with straps it feels excellent.

I'm about 5'9", but I'd build it to a 5-6" height if you want it to feel similar to a deadlift height. I might be a little high compared to a barbell but I can't tell the difference.

Why would you want a second rickshaw instead of farmers? If I had to choose I'd take farmers over the rickshaw all day, any day.

That was the first thing I saw. Just seems like they kind of missed the mark, especially at the price point. I got a little excited when I saw it because I wouldn't mind something nicer than my 2 Titan pulley towers set up as a cable crossover, but I don't think this is it.

I had the rickshaw - was built super solid and the welds and finish were great. I eventually sold it because of lack of use. It was used for shrugs and overloaded trap bar deadlift but I found the farmer handles much better for walks

Ya, seriously, swing and a miss. The only reason I think they didn't go 2:1 is because the increased travel would require a taller tower. Maybe they'll release a taller version with something like 250 at 2:1.

1:4 with only a 200-lb stack + a $2k price tag would be a hard pass for me if I was in the market. Inspire remains the best bang for the buck if buying new.

It is 4:1 at each arm and 2:1 when using both arms together. That is fairly common for the single stack functional trainers.

So funny story, my Body-Solid Fusion 600 (https://www.bodysolid.com/home/f600/...rsonal_trainer) has built in adjustable functional arms like the Titan and Hoist ones above.

I think Body-Solid said it was a 4:1 ratio, but I swear I measured it and it was 2:1... anyways, the unit comes with a 200 lbs stack option or a 300 lbs stack option.... I got the 300 lbs stack option (because Gainz).... I ended up doing seated rows with the entire stack a few times.... and WHAM ripped one of the functional arms completely off bending the bolt holding it together, I was able to get it fixed and put it back in place but Body-Solid honored the lifetime warranty and sent me a brand new functional arm to replace the one I had in case it ever came off again. So now I'm always weary about functional trainers with those adjustable arms. I like that Hoist and Titan ones because of the space saving but it also bugs me that its a 4:1 ratio.

I don't see why. I have a single stack, 310 lbs, 2:1. So I can get the full 310lbs (for seated rows as an example) by using both handles. And it's not overly tall (shorter than my rack and it's mounted behind it). The plates are 15lbs increments however, which shortens the stack quite a bit.

Ah, but you have a very special unit there and as you say it has a 2.1ratio, many here would give their left nut to own it.

In my view the problem with 4.1 ratio isn't confined to the lack of resistance, the movement just feels sluggish, I'm sure that's fine for rehab and pegging the stack lower may help some of the snowflakes in the big box gyms feel stronger, but I've yet to find a machine with a 4.1 ratio that I liked.

I was responding to the fact that 4:1 is "fairly common". Again, I don't see why they wouldn't just make it 2:1. Seems like a bigger market.

Oh I agree, most I speak to prefer 2.1 ratio. There appears to be a belief amongst manufacturers that users want incrementally small weight increases and a long cable reach, not sure this is totally correct and I can't say I agree with this premise, but in order to achieve this they keep churning out these 4.1 units.

The 4:1 ratio eliminates/reduces momentum and allows for faster movements.

4:1 allows for faster movements than 2:1.

I just placed a backorder for Titan's new squat stand to half rack conversion. It supposedly won't ship out until 6-30-21, but I'm still excited. I wasn't sure how else to easily and cheaply add support to the uprights until I saw this. Fingers crossed I don't wait a year to receive it.

Yes, I'm aware of that, for a few dynamic movements this is beneficial, but the reduction in inertia does change the feel of many of the more popular movements, slower, controlled moves just feel different, I'm not saying this is a bad thing for everyone, but I suspect most here are pursuing a strength/muscle building program, so the reduction in resistance will inevitably be an issue, unless a 4.1 machine has an enormously heavy stack.

For me at least, I'm not able to feel the worked muscle to the same degree when using a 4.1 ratio unit, , full contraction isn't felt. Of course all of this may just be in my head, but I feel it's worth pointing out none the less.

New? They don't have a new half rack conversion. It's the same Rogue knock-off they've had for years.

Oh, I was unaware. I don't keep up with Titan too much, I usually just make a purchase if something I need is cheap....and I'm positive I can still use or modify the product even if it arrives and is absolute junk. Lol
