Seriously, looks like someone used JB Weld putty and just smeared it around the tube.
Add this to my "How can Titan screw this one up" list above....haha

I think that Viking press needs a trip to the sand blaster to really see whats going on. Then post pics post blast. Hoping my press arms don't have JB welds.

I think I miss the boat on the dl platform. It's 2 inches tall so to make the thickness you need to build up 2 layers of 3/4 and a layer of 1/2 inch plywood and stall mats in whichever configuration you choose. If I took the time and spent the money to do that I'd just bolt some sort of band tiedown right to the platform then I wouldn't need to bolt anything to the floor.

It would be nice to hear from SH about those sheared off Jhooks. He never commented about them or any updates afaik?
But I got those Rogue 2x3 hooks working well with a plywood shim and like that the hook extends out a little further.

I don't know about that. It means it wasn't a design issue. A design issue could be fixed with new j-cups. If it's a quality control issue with how they bent it or the steel they used, it means all their j-cups are a crap shoot and there's no way to tell if you have a potentially bad one or not.
Of course we still don't know what happened in that one instance so I don't want to read too far into it.

It's not the shimming it's more the point of the entire thing. In this case it's $200 to put a steel frame around a platform built from plywood and stall mats and the sole purpose of it seems to be to attach bands to deadlifts which you could do with your feet or since you have a platform you could bolt them to the edges of that for just a few dollars worth of hardware.
I can see the sense of this in a commercial gym setting to keep the deadlifting to a small space so any floor damage was localised to that area but for a home gym I just don't see it. I however also recognize that this is equipment forum where hndreds of dollars are spent on making simple tasks easier every day(just built a new rack for myself so I am pointing the finger squarely at myself here).Best Lifts

Standing on a band could work for some who want to use contrast band training for the DL training, but that doesn't work for everyone, especially those pulling 600 and higher. I myself need to use quadded mini bands Westside style to get the amount of band tension at the top that I need. I also use heavy short bands on occasion as well. The only reason I have the frame at all is for pulling with bands, and I'd agree, if you don't plan on using bands, this is certainly not a "need" piece. That said, the DL frame is nice and does carve out a dedicated spot in my garage, with or without bands, I'd want to have one now.

I just received Titan's new Loadable Mace Hammer.
My first overall impression is that this is a pretty decent loadable mace that after the 5% discount is pretty cheap. I feel it is well made.
The packing was non-existent. It was in a box with only a plastic wrap. There were a couple of marks but nothing too bad.
Since everyone talks about their welds, here is a sample.
Back in 2008, I bought a Stronger Grip loadable inch dumbbell ($250). I bought way too much shot back then so I have plenty of fill for this mace.
Here is the inch dumbbell next to the mace (for ten years' of use, it has held up very well).
The inch's weld.

Titan Lever Arms for the X-2 rack.
Let’s just start by saying I have never been disappointed with any Titan purchase yet. I have placed approximately 10 orders with Titan since black Friday of last year and haven't regretted any of them. I paid $185 shipped to my door for these and would do it again in a heartbeat. Now onto the review.
Many are debating whether Titan can build something that rotates, weld something together without failing, ship something secure with enough packing materials, ship everything without missing any parts, so on and so on but this isn't the case here. These came perfectly packed, no blemishes in the powder coat, almost exact match to rack finish, beefy hardware, and welded straight without slag slippery shrapnel looking welds. If everything Titan offered were welded and finished like these were I'm sure there would be more fans. I purchased the lever arms (jammer arms) well aware they are spec'd for a rack I didn't own. The T3 rack arms are built using 2x2 sq. tubing and the mating surface is 2 inches wide, same as the X2. Now, the 2x2 sq. tubing on the arms are not 9ga. like the rack but rather 11ga. like many of the leverage/jammer arms that are made currently. Other than that I didn't know how they would be in person or if they would even bolt onto my rack but my gut feels was they were going to be awesome if they do.
First thing I noticed right away is that the box they came in was not torn, didn’t look kicked around, didn't fall off a truck, and everything looked intact. I was quite surprised once I opened the box and saw how well these were packaged from previous items that I purchased. Titan took a lot of time to package these from getting damaged and it showed. Foam in between everything, each item bagged or bubble wrapped, taped with cardboard, and no metal to metal contact anywhere.
Big neon sign included stated to check online for assembly instructions. I’m pretty mechanically inclined so that step I did skip. Hardware has been scaled up to Grade 8 and come shrink wrapped to cardboard (unlike in bags like previous items). Everything bolted up without any problems and seem to be pretty straight. I did have to swap some bolt lengths around since the T-3 bolts included were meant for a 3" tube and mine was 2" but that was expected. Welds are very clean and finish is outstanding (no scratches and no ugly welds seen). Lever arms bolted on straight and hang about ¼” off center from the inside out. This is due to the little play the arms have and since the handles are heavier than the weight horns this shows when no weight is added. Once weight is added to the horns the arms hang perfectly straight. To my surprise the pivot is actually a brass bushing and not held on by a bolt just stuck through it.
I only got a few presses in to see how they feel and I already know I will love having these. I will have to configure something to hang these out of the way (to the ceiling) so they don’t interfere when adjusting the safeties, but other than that I love having these bolted on my rack. I don’t think the interference will happen with the full heighted rack but with the short rack which I have this was to be expected as well. Much use will come of these.
Again, for $185 shipped these are great.Last edited by dparty82; 03-05-2018 at 12:41 PM.

I want to leave them on since they look so sweet hanging but they do tend to make getting into the rack a little tight and as stated cumbersome for adjusting the safeties. If I rig something up to keep them up and away they are fine just leaving them on. I will add another set of weight horns to the lower front to store dedicated weight plates for the arms tho.
I hope so too. I've done a few seated decline presses, incline seated presses, and some standing one arm rows. I want to weld something up and make it a quick attachment so I can do seated shoulder presses and bent over rowing as well. All feel wonderful but with the seated exercises my bench tends to slide across my slippery floor. Will be adding some horse stall mats to fix that."When you have tried all that you can do.......failure becomes your next option." -me
