It's like that on the roller J-Cups from Titan too; my Rep Power Bar EX tears right through them.
The frustrating thing is that my old Titan X-3 regular crappy J-cups have MUCH more resistant UHMW; I've used them for 2 years with very aggressive bars, and they have barely any wear. The UHMW is the only bad thing about the Roller J-Cups, but it's pretty significant.

Few different things that could be done, but I think I'm just going to wait it out and see how long it takes to get down to the metal of the mono's. Will have to vacuum the platform a little more often to get all the little pieces, but eventually I'll just order another 12x12" sheet of 3/4" thick UHMW from MC for $25 and make ones when the time comes. Or heck, maybe it's time to stop babying everything and just let the barbell knurling smooth out where the j-cups rest naturally. Aside from the quality of the UHMW I couldn't be happier with the mono's, definitely not 'Mech' quality but they get the job done just the same. Didn't notice this before until I went to put them in, but the stopper pin actually had a plastic sleeve to prevent damage to the arm.

Titan welds. Good?
Ordered just the adjustable brackets for the lever arms. I know this is an easy straight weld but still shocked that it's clean. I mean, it's not perfect but these are on their T-3 brackets. It's not like their Titan Series ones where I would expect higher quality. Lately things I've gotten from Titan feel like they're higher quality finish but the welds still have shown excess bubbling. These are smooth.
Set them up on the rack and notice a little play in the unit. That's to be expected though due to the removable design. Other thing is that previously I had the arms mounted where the top piece connects. With the adjustable arms, I had to move it lower because the bolts that hold the rack together prevent the adjustable bracket from fitting. It means the arms are now 8" lower than where they were. I haven't done a workout yet on them (just got them yesterday) but did a couple of tests and the ergonomics feels better. Think where they had been mounted was hitting my rotator cuff too much. Never thought lowering them would improve the ROM

Must be using the same machines as their Titan series to weld these, it's good to see Titan making improvements like this across the board. Ordered the Viking press handles yesterday for some pressing variation, think military press has irritated my shoulders so it will very likely become my main shoulder movement. They are super fast to ship lately as well, got notification same day that my order went out.
Quick update on my Mono's, aside from the UHMW still making a mess they have been fantastic. Removed the stopper bolt and haven't had a single issue with clearance, they feel feel much lighter than my Mech mono' so adjusting them has been easy. The other added bonus to ordering from Titan that many do not consider, is the rewards program. Don't see other companies offering things like that, and discounts for registering your product.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #58 ▪█─────█▪

Not sure why these are so cheap, I paid nearly full price just a month ago but it appears the Titan Series Mono's are on sale if anyone needs a 3x3 1" set.

Anyone ever use the Titan rackable curl bar? I'm specifically interested in whether the angles are decent. Thinking of getting one when they are back in stock--it's not a huge need, but if the angles are good I might be ready to pull the trigger.

I'd say the overwhelming majority of "anyone" who routinely use a curl bar have never thought much about the shaft diameter if they're using a 27-30mm bar, and not many more people think about the diameter of the bar they bench with. I have a Hampton curl bar and recently had a Troy bar - I just looked it up and the Hampton is 28mm and the Troy is listed at 27mm. The knurl was quite different between them and I honestly never noticed that they were different diameters. I don't do many ez bar curls, but neither one felt "too thin" in my hands.
As for deadlift, I switch between Ohio DL bar, B&R 2.0, and smooth axle bar, so no, I don't really have a preference for a thin bar. I really like the knurl on the Ohio deadlift bar, but if they sold a 28-29mm bar with that knurl in a standard length and without center knurl I'd be interested in it. I have no experience with oly lifting and don't know much about it.
For what it's worth, manufacturers are all over in terms of curl bar diameter, but 28.5mm seems close to the average:
Rogue rackable curl bar: 28.5mm
Rep rackable curl bar: 30mm
Titan rackable curl bar: 28.5mm
American Barbell curl bar: 28.5mm
Ivanko OBZ-30: 30mm
Ivanko OBZ-40: 1 1/8"/28.56mm
Ivanko OBZ-55: 1 1/8"/28.56mm
Xmark Convict bar: 28mm
Troy Commercial curl bar: 27mm
Troy VTX Super XL curl bar: 30mm
Hampton International curl bar: 28mm

Yikes, are you serious with this? Guess I've been wrong all these years, shaft diameter makes no difference to anyone here.
Better go post that in the 'Barbell Thread' LOL
Edit: Better yet, why don't you start a poll on the topic. Then watch the overwhelming majority vote for a thicker barbell when pressing/curling (29-30mm) over a thin barbell (27-28mm).Last edited by urbanlifter; 10-14-2020 at 12:08 PM.

Take a breath, my man. I'm not taking this personally and you shouldn't be either. I respect your opinion even if I disagree with it. You posit that 28mm is too thin for a curl bar while 30mm is perfect (and believe the majority of people feel this way), and I disagree that your average lifter is going to notice or care about the difference.
Moving the goalposts after you specifically said "the overwhelming majority of anyone" isn't going to be productive. This forum represents a tiny minority of the lifting community and tends to be an echo chamber a good deal of the time. I'd argue that your general tri's and bi's bro at a globo gym, who I believe still makes up the "majority of anyone" in the lifting world, couldn't tell you whether his 2- or 3-plate bench is on a 28 or 32mm bar. In all my years at a globo gym it was rare enough to even use the same bar more than one workout in a row, let alone worry about what the diameter was. The first real bar I bought for home (OB-86B) felt like a Cadillac and at the time I never thought I'd outgrow it, but for all the cool doodads and equipment I've stacked in my basement, my big 3 lifts have never been massively higher than they were at a globo, and most of that difference is almost surely from better programming vs better equipment. Doesn't mean I don't love talking about equipment or don't want to have a cool home gym, but I think a good deal of the minutia that we talk about here is ultimately just fluff (and nothing about that is unique to this forum vs any other specialty forum).

This is all very subjective, isn't it, I don't have big hands, nor do I move overly heavy weights certainly not when curling, I can't say I've ever curled with a bar that really dug into my hands, not even a 25mm bar.
Having said this, I prefer a curl bar that is on the thicker side, 28.5mm-30mm, I just find I get a better squeeze at the top of the movement, but as I stated at the outset, these things are subjective.

The goal posts have stayed the same, there are plenty of new & semi-new people on this forum as well. Haven't seen many 'Equipment Crew' badges these days for the truly disturbed members. But if you want to side step what I originally said just to make a point, then you are welcome to include the entire population of non-gym goers as well and I'm sure my grandma couldn't tell a difference between 28mm and 29mm for pressing. Either way, you know I'm right but seem to be intent with arguing not because you didn't like what I said, more so how it was said. I'm not going to give you some "sorta, kinda, maybe in the right condition 30mm would be better if it's within your budget" answer like Coop from GarageGyms would. Simply said a 28mm barbell is a 'hard pass for me", 30mm is a better thickness for a curling and obviously from what you stated above you know the overwhelming majority feel the same LOL. That was way more painful than it needed to be, sorry for trying to help you make the right decision my friend. I'll refrain from doing so in the future
