Lmao. Judging by the M&P's that come through our shop, the M&P line's QC is nearly non existent. Tolerances on almost everything are all over. Barrel lock up for example is horrendous. Some are damn near match quality lock up. Some you'd be lucky to shoot 6-7" groups at 25 yards with. 100% serious.

Seriously considering finally buying a reloading setup. Even if I'm lazy and don't pick up my brass and buy once fired brass I can still load 124gr 9mm for about $130/case

90% of people don't shoot pistols at that range anyway. For self defense purposes where the huge majority of shooting is well inside 10 yards, they're fine. But from a quality aspect....no. lol

fellas with the shield, without a mag inserted, if you rack the slide to the back completely, it shouldn't rerack right? I've only taken it apart once and from what I remember and based off videos I'm watching, to strip the shield, you take out the mag and round in the chamber, then rack the slide and it should stay back. Mine slingshots back into battery

what do? My friend with the glocks ( the one I mentioned with the 26 that was hnnnnnng) told me my gun needs lubing cause its so much harder to slingshot than his glock.

All pistols will go back into battery if you pull the slide back with no magazine in. That's correct. The mag follower is what activates the slide stop holding the slide back when there is a mag in the gun unless you engage the slide stop yourself when you pull slide back.

The slide will only lock back with an empty magazine inserted or if you, you know, push up on the slide stop/lock lever when you pull the slide back.

this is what I thought because I have never had a pistol lock back without a mag inserted. I tried pushing on the slide lock/release while racking the slide and it didn't stay locked back. I'll just continue to put an empty magazine whenever I need the slide locked back

Be sure to de-lube first. I usually dip mine in a tank of gasoline. The light them up to burn off the excess.
