I notice that I have gas, smelly gas, if I drink whey concentrate or isolate. If I drink too many shakes, the gas gives me an unpleasant bloated feeling, and I fart all day.
I used to drink 2 gallons of milk a day as a kid. Now I drink about a half to full gallon every half week. I don't notice this from milk, although it can upset my stomach slightly if it's not super fresh. I'm thinking I might be slightly lactose intolerant because of the way the protein powders affect me. I knew I should have kept up the 2 gallons a day. Now my body has evolved to be lactose intolerant

I think it's quite common for people to become LI later in life. I was in the same boat. As a child drank 5 gallons minimum a week. Now if I drank a glass it'd destroy me. Haven't drank milk in probably 3 years now
Consider it a blessing. Milk is terrible for you anyways. Unless you're a baby cow of course.

Yeah I guess this is what I was curious about, is if whey can disagree with people that are not lactose intolerant. Maybe I need to amp up the milk drinking and have an experiment I'm pretty sure if I drink a bunch of milk, it would disagree with me slightly too though.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Hey Ameyer, why do you say milk is horrible for you? I do kind of regret as a kid, I was drinking cheap hormone loaded milk. Now I drink local dairy farm whole milk. I can see how the bad fats could be hard on the heart. Other than that though, I don't get what could be so bad about it. It tastes like pure heaven.

Never heard anyone been diagnosed of lactose intolerance of just gas, for me (15 years ago) it was drink milk or anything with dairy products. 20 min later i had to sit on the toilet with stomach ache and horrible diarrhea. Only gas not a chance its lactose intolerance. Even at low dosage of lactose you get aches.

Nope, I've just only had this issue with whey protein shakes, and haven't had the urge to drink a bunch of milk or protein shakes. I just cut the protein shakes down to about one every 2 days, and they don't bother me hardly at all. I just thought that the only reason the protein shakes could make me so gassy, is lactose intolerance. I was just hoping to get to the bottom of it. I might pick up some lactaid pills, and drink a bunch of protein shakes. That's another way to experiment I guess lol.
Yeah I can pretty much eat all the dairy products I want. I remember I ate cereal for like half the meals of one day (short on time), and it made my stomach kind of upset. I should probably try this drinking a bunch of milk experiment and see if it messes with me.
