Comparing Syntha-6 and JYM for a protein blend to take at night?

    Hey all,
Just curious about these two protein blends.
I typically just take ON Whey, but thought a longer acting protein blend would be worthwhile to take at night.

Unless, there are any other comments that neither is needed and just doing whole foods at night like Greek Yogurt or hard-boiled eggs is enough?

    Thanks

Food should always be your first option and then if you need to add in a protein shake to help you hit your protein intake total then that's when you add in a protein powder. All three powders listed are great and will all yield the same results imo. I would go with the syntha-6 out of the three solely because it has great taste.

Based on personal preference OP. One protein powder will not give you any different results than another protein powder unless one doesn't meet label claims. A blended protein will be a bit more slower absorbing, so it might keep you full/satisfied a little bit longer. Or you can just eat a whole food meal before bed. Again, comes down to personal preference. But one will not really be more superior than another as far as results go. Your results are determined by the overall macros at the end of the day.

This. Plus timing isn't relevant to the vast majority of people. Just meet your macro whenever convenient before you go to bed each day. Stop buying into the broscience of different proteins, timing, digestion rates, etc. It doesn't matter. In the context of a high protein diet of varied sources, protein is protein. Use your whey to help meet your macro if you need the help. Don't if you don't.

I always do cottage cheese just out of personal preference. I don't like to drink alot before bed.

If I were to do a protein drink before bed (some cycles I do) I would stick to a mostly casein blend. Neither of these are mostly casein.

You don't need a longer acting/digesting protein at night. Hit your macros for the day and you're good to go. Getting equal protein from whole foods would be better, yes.

There may be a benefit to a casein heavy protein/meal before bed, and that is hopefully to help you feel less hungry if cutting/limiting calories. But I would go with a primarily casein protein for that, perhaps one that is 100% casein...mixed in milk.

But of the two you asked about I would take Syntha-6 over jym
