MAF has looked great. Whatever therapy they sent him to was worth every penny.

I never understood why they brought Trotz in. We can't win in the playoffs so let's bring in a coach who can't win in the playoffs...
I don't know how you start over with a team like that though. On paper, they're built as well as you could possibly hope for, it just doesn't work for some reason.++ Positive crew ++

Yeah. To be honest, I doubt the Caps really made changes like bringing in Williams, Oshie and Shatt specifically to beat the Pens. Those changes were intended to give them a better chance of winning in the playoffs period.
An interesting read from the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.82ecee154d34
So, yes, the Capitals are badly outshooting the Penguins, dominating possession and largely limiting Pittsburgh’s shot attempts. But the shots the Caps do yield are some of the most dangerous in the game — breakaways, rebounds and power plays. That can’t happen against any team, more or less the reigning Stanley Cup champs.++ Positive crew ++

Yes I agree with that. It would help the Blues overall, but how would it change Tarasenko's play? He'd still be facing the top D pair, the top line. Wheeler wouldn't be on his line. They need someone to play with Tarasenko. But even still, it doesn't absolve Tarasenko because he dominates in the regular season. But like you've said, it's a different game in the playoffs.
The difference is, you're not ever going to win. I'm not trolling.
Why would trading Ovechkin be going "full retard"? The Capitals should be exploring literally every single option. It's the mentality that even thinking of trading Ovechkin is going "full retard" that is EXACTLY why the sh!tshington crapitals will never win the Cup. Because the owner feels the same way. Ovechkin has never even been out of the SECOND fukking round, never mind win the Cup. Hockey is a team sport and it takes depth to win but Ovechkin's had powerhouse team after powerhouse team. There's a reason why guys like Toews, Kane, Kopitar, Crosby, Malkin, etc. get huge amounts of credit for their team winning. There is absolutely no excuse for Ovechkin. If they can find a deal that makes their team better, you fukking do it. They owe Ovechkin absolutely nothing.
It's because they're fukking morons, from the top down, all completely clueless on what it takes to win. Yeah let's get Trotz who has been a playoff failure. Let's get TJ Oshie and Kevin Sh!ttenkirk who have been centerpiece on the perennial loser Blues. They were smart enough to trick Justin Williams into signing there, but not even he is GOAT enough to save them. He must be frothing at the mouth to sign elsewhere so he can actually have a chance in hell to win another Cup.

I kind of have to laugh at all the Justin Williams nuthugging that goes on everywhere. Dude has one really good playoff season (2013-14) to his name but everyone thinks he's some kind of playoff machine.

I think it's only become a 'we must beat the Pens' narrative since last playoffs. It's not the Caps can beat Pittsburgh; it's that they can't make it past the second round. Caps fans are just losing their minds because last year was the second time in the salary cap era that the Pens beat Washington in the 2nd round on the way to winning the Cup.

You still are completely missing my point. Tarasenko's production in the POs is fine as i said earlier coming into this year he had the highest G/gm in the POs of all active players. He is producing just fine. No one can blame the Blues failures on Tarasenko. The problem is and has been no one else on the team produces consistently. Bringing in some one to play with Tarasenko still puts all of the pressure on him to produce, they need to bring in additional scoring not someone to pass the puck to tarasenko.
Oshie and Shattenkirk where never center pieces on the Blues...If they were the Blues wouldnt have traded them bc of salaryLast edited by Sh724; 05-04-2017 at 02:40 PM.

Well he was scratched for some of the playoffs. He gets proportionally a lot of his points on the powerplay it seems. He is quick and a good skater, not all that great defensively. Idk, nothing all that great to get excited about for us. I think he could do better with a change of scenery and different coach/culture though.
